That's what I'm assuming they're stuck on, since that seemed to be the issue with Password: JDM. Plus, simply carving a whole into the intake box for the MAF doesn't seem like it'd fly.

This is spot on. The problem is that the cover has no provision for the MAF housing. In the first post of this thread, the first picture shows the cover w/o a MAF housing. The second picture shows a MAF sensor screwed into the top of the cover. This I believe would give a bad reading and could cause the ECU to overcompensate for either a lean or rich condition. Plus, the airflow is different in the cover than in the stock MAF housing. Stock cover with MAF housing incorporated into design: ![]() CRV cover with inlet removed to allow sectioned MAF housing: I also see a problem regarding the cover itself. One could use a sectioned Si MAF housing and try to adapt it. But, the cover would need the inlet area to be cut away. I would hate to hack up a carbon fiber cover in order to fit a MAF housing. To me, they almost have to back to the drawing board and start again. Either a housing needs to be incorporated into the design, or a hole needs to be made in the inlet to accomodate a MAF housing. ![]() ![]()

My car is in the shop getting the damage fixed that was incurred in a rear end accident. I spent 10 hours this past weekend completely redesigning and fabricating an Si airbox cover.
![]() While doing the cover, I thought about what it would take to make the T1R cover work. As it now stands, it would require major modifications to the cover itself. The cover is a beautifully crafted piece, but it was designed for an FD2, not a USDM Si.

this is extremely disappointing
![]() a company who's primary focus is making aftermarket parts should have no problem making an intake.. thats the easiest part of a car to make after a shift knob. WTH?? the car came out over 2 years ago and we still don't have a semi decent intake?? We do own civics right? whats the ******* hold up? |

If I had the same resources as T1R, I would have made this intake years ago without a problem Last edited by tcel127; 05-29-2008 at 04:37 PM. |

I'm not defending them, I'm just telling it like it is. IF the problem was as easily solved as you say it is, then why has AEM finally put those vanes in their CAI? Why is P:JDM's intake not out? There's certainly something else to the problem, but it all starts with the MAF.

I already have an intake and i hate it. In my opinion, all the aftermarket intakes that are on the market for our cars suck. anyone that disagrees has not gotten back into a car with a stock intake after having their SR or CAI put in. I wish i still had my OEM intake system so i could make my own setup. i WILL be buying this irregardless of price. Its a matter of time now... like i said, its not like our cars just came out yesturday. Some companies even had the SI months before it was released to the public.

if it was released w/ flaws, you'd all be bitching.
I ordered my T1R Test Pipe from them, and they have their hands full right now. good things come to those who wait.
