Anyway

Sooooo glad the MAF got moved. I wonder if there is a way we could cut the MAF housing out of our intake and put it in this one. Our MAF's are ment to work with the viens, so this would be ideal.

My point is that they 1st said that it was R&D'd to perfection with the MAF in an "unconventional" location. If they said it was perfect and provided gains, I'm sure they would have dyno charts to back it up. If you check in the Borla thread, you'll see that they(Borla) have a dyno graph to SHOW that they actually R&D'd(because I don't think the exhaust is available just yet)! They(Borla) just didn't make a product and say that it makes gains, without showing how they know it makes gains. Is'nt doing dyno runs part of the R&D process, when you're producing a part thats supposed to make power?... Then T1R changes the location of the MAF to the stock location and says it works better. Seems like maybe when they "R&D'd", they should've started with the MAF in the stock location; then moved it around to see if it provided gains/benefits.... I don't know, I hope I'm wrong. I hope this intake becomes our best available option, but right now I just don't see it(moneywise)......... I was thinking of getting the CRV airbox like Bill(cowl induction), cutting out the MAF section, so my Xintake cone filter can be housed in the CRV box. Then cut my resonator chamber box(behind driverside fog light) to make it into a big scoop behind the foglight(like T1R). Hook the hose from the "scoop" to the lower hole on the CRV airbox. It should be similar to this T1R setup with the added benefit of the more induction surface area that the cone filter provides vs the flat panel filter... Or I may just do it like Bill depending on his results. Again, I hope I'm wrong and T1R hits the mark; I'll buy one and save myself some work, but......

We originally had the MAF on top of the box assuming it will function better, but we have decided to change the MAF to a different location which is on the pipe which is better than the original spot. We are trying to make the product as highest quality as possible and give it's maximum potential and I think we have accomplish that.

As for updates: We actually get a big shipment next week. Hoping the actual product will come and I will be able to give everyone all the information. Sorry for the inconvience.

I'm interested in this product as well, but where are the dynos? I agree with Soicho Jr. I thought dynoing would be a natural part of the R&D process.

Yes, it is. During the process of R&D that is not the "ACTUAL PRODUCT", we could get that dyno for you but the true performance and AFR will not be accurate, since we have re-defined some works on the intake to make it much better than before. Since we are waiting for the "FINAL PRODUCT", we can get the thing dyno and you will get accurate results. The picture that I have originally posted was our prototype, we made some changes and we should receive the final/actual product and we will do all the request everyone has asked on here. We were planning to dyno the prototype one, but we have change some features on the intake, which is different from the one you see. Everything is the same, but the MAF sensor location and some other things.

Just curious how you could make changes on an your product without putting it on the dyno or commenting on any other performance testing? In your post it just seems as if you havent really tested the performance aspect of the intake, but are making changes?

i think they did do a dyno but that was of the previous one with the MAF on top. since they've changed where the MAF is located they want to dyno the final product to get accurate results.

I dont think theyve dynoed it yet bud. If they did they haven't posted anything saying they did.

From what I've read...at either locations.

maybe. i know there was some show they were preparing their cars for so they might be a little busy.

just because they didnt dyno test doesnt mean they didnt test it out on the street/track.

Good point, track times(maybe?). I really do hope this intake is a success. Good luck with the final product T1R.

I'm pretty sure they have tested the prototype product and have come up with results that were sub-par.. So they probably went back to the drawing board and after some math they were able to come up with a better design, now they have to wait for the new product and once they see what they like, we will get the results (hopefully )..

Yes, we did test the performance of the intake both street/track. After testing the prototype we found that the MAF sensor can be better at a different location. This is why we have changed the location of the MAF sensor and some changes to make the product better than the prototype. Now we are waiting for the final product since we are happy with the change that were done and it will show its full potential. I thank the the members for understand with us and your time and patient we are truely sorry and we are trying out best. Believe me we are, we are releasing a couple of new products for the FG/FA that I hope comes in next week in our shipment and at the same time we are getting ready for a big car show the end of this month on May 31. If you are located in Vancouver come by and see us at our booth. The show is called DTP (Driven To Performance). As I get more information I will release it to everyone.

PS - Once we get the final product, then that will be final and it will be ready for sale. Price will be annouce and all the other information that follows up with that.
