Greddy Ti-c vs Vibrant cat-back?
My apologies if exhaust threads have been somewhat covered a little too much...exhausting perhaps. Alright alright.. that's probably the most common pun around here.
But honestly I have not seen a fair comparison between the greddy ti-c and the vibrant cat-back. I will be getting either one but would love to hear from you. Pros and cons in your opinion?? Thanks! |

Ti-C cons: Angled too much, if you are lowered, good chance of scraping the axleback bend
Vibrant cons: leaks, probably have to be welded.

Vibrant owns the TI-C in every aspect, for me that is. Looks better (stock-ish look vs. coffee can exhaust), not angled (don't like the angling on the TI-C), and it sounds better. THe TI-C is a more raspy/stereotypical honda exhaust whereas the Vibrant is much deeper and throatier. Almost like a skunk2, just toned down a bit.
Then again, all of my minuses for the TI-C could be pluses for you |

^^ i disagree
i dislike exhausts that look stockish. the only pros of that is less attention from cops but theyre not a problem in my area. i love the way the ti-c is angled and how it has the titanium burnt tip. ive never heard the ti-c being raspy. the vibrant should be more raspy considering the lil bit bigger piping it has. im lowered and ive never scraped the axleback bend. jus my .02 all in all, both exhausts are good IMO. you will get some gains with both. ive seen a superstreet magazine with dyno tests on an ep3 si with the ti-c exhaust and it got a 4-6whp gain i love my Ti-C |

Edit - I just realized you're 16. That probably has a lot to do with your opinion. The younger you are, the more attention you seem to want in a car. Exactly why you'll see teenagers driver ridiculously loud civics from 1995, but it gets more and more rare as the age goes up. Not saying anything against you, I'm sure in 10th grade if I had an SI I would've wanted it slammed to the ground with a huge exhaust and a crazy ass body kit and the whole nine yards. I still want things like that, but the want becomes less and less. Last edited by I Vtec, do you?; 04-23-2008 at 04:53 PM. |

I love my Ti-C...I love the angle and the burnt tip...I want an exhaust not stock looking at all...As far as sound. AWESOME! Not high pitched or raspy at all...Very deep and agressive. It's all preferance really. The only thing I like about vibrant is it's 2.5 while the tic is 2.36...Would have been great if they offered the tic in a 65 or 70mm

Guilty...I'm 18 and I'm a senior...But seriously man it does sound like a stereotype. The Ti-C , skunk2, or apexi n1 aren't ricey at all...They aren't ebay mufflers or anything...They are a quality performance exhaust just like vibrant...It's all about opinions man. Imagine if everyone like the same stuff....Modding cars would be a very boring hobby then.

It's great how you put that into perspective for me. Im going on 27 and i've never had a huge exhaust like the ti-c hence the huge burnt tip is very attractive! But then again, i'm starting to find i don't really like too much attention let alone from the cops, hence the vibrant comes into the picture. Argh..so hard to decide!! What about those who have heard both of these catbacks, how do they differ in terms of sound? I've never heard them but i think they sound similar? And i take it performance would be pretty similar too? |

Anyways, as I already said and you just said, it's all an opinion. I think the TI-C, skunk2 and apexi N1s are all a bit ricey. Frame of mind is all it is |

GREDDY Ti-C
GReddy Racing Ti-C Cat-back Exhausts combine the design, looks and flow of our Full Racing Titanium systems with the durability, deep sound, value and large application list of our other Stainless Steel street systems. This fusion of aggressive styling and practical construction, makes this the logical choice for both Race and Street Enthusiasts. It improves high and mid-range performance while still allowing for suitable sound levels when used with the included tuned Tri-mounted Silencer*. *(Most applications below 92db, with all under 94db). The large list of applications include 80mm piping for Turbo applications and 50-60-70-80mm for Normally Aspirated vehicles Greddy - Founded and Driven by Racers Vibrant Vibrant Performance ::. Vibrant Performance Full Cat-back on a 06 Civic Si - Video The problem with the Vibrant is... i havent found a general exhaust system made directly for the 8th Gen. Civic. Now In the video on streetfire.net has a vibrant system on the 8th Gen. Civic but for an earlier model. Don't get me wrong sounds great on a video and looks great as well. But not having a system made for the 8th Gen. Civic and strapping it on one seems a little RICE to me... |

Anyone wanna say anything useful, I'm also in the process of getting an exhaust, I bought a skunk2 then returned it because I heard my friends and I thought it was to loud for a DD. It sounds amazing up top, its a real sharp agressive sound in VTEC. Down low, it does have "rice" undertones, I mean its really loud when your just barely getting on it, so DD its just loud for no reason. The cars screaming but your not going anywhere. Thats where I want something quieter that opens up up top a.k.a the vibrant. If I went w/a raceheader I would go with the EVO2 as its quiet when you want it to be but really loud and agressive when you get on it but just I/E I would stick w/ the vibrant. We'll see.
