Resale value?

After looking at the dynos of the R18 in the other post I've realized how much of a waste of money it would be to put do all of the basic bolt on mods. Still, I'm interested in doing a CAI since that's not very expensive. I also want to do the NST pulley kit since I want a better throttle response.

I have the money for both of those right now, but my only concern is how much will they depreciate the value when I try to resell? Also, if anyone has any experience with selling your car, is it better to trade at the dealers to escape tax or sell it privately?

Overall I'm really dissappointed with the numbers the R18 puts up. My mom surprised me with bringing the automatic one home and I pay for it monthly, but my income has increased a lot since I got it last year and now I'm looking to saving for an Evo X. I'm thinking save $10,000 over the next 3 years while I finish paying this car off, then trade in my car for at least $10,000, so I'll have a little over $15,000 to finance.
