Well today I picked it up for 140 lightly used. It was missing a hose so I picked one up at partsource. Install took about 1.5 hours because the hose I picked up was a little bit big, and I had some coolant leak issues. Once they were fixed up, I let it idle for 10 minutes, then jumped in!
The first thing I noticed was the metallic whooshing noise from the engine. It only happens when you are on the throttle about 1/3. Give it a little more, and it turns into a deep rumble. I got out onto a back road and when I opened it up, a tear came to my eye. It roared up to VTEC, and then when it crossed over, it was like an explosion! It screamed all the way to the rev limiter and then I shifted again! I was giddy like a little school girl and this intake was so worth the money. I don't even have the radio on anymore so I can listen to the whooshing. I can't even hear my exhaust anymore! Summary: - Easy install - Terrible install instructions, be prepared to figure out a bit by yourself - Sounds great - Some bogging at low rpms and at a stop - VTEC sounds like heaven - Terrible mileage (See last point) - Looks great under the hood! - Can feel some power on the butt dyno, maybe it's just the noise! I give the Fujita F5 SRI 9/10 I am completely happy and I got my moneys worth. The instructions could be way better, they are tiny black and white pictures. A little bogging and lag but with DBW what do you expect! The videos are on my facebook but I'll post them soon if anyone wants! ![]() |

Glad you like it! The fujita sound is amazing, very nice short ram sound. When I had mine on my gas mileage dropped from 29-30 mpg to like 24 mpg. I think I was vtecing it like 95% of the time just to hear the fujita's roar! I forced myself to drive very conservative for an entire tank of gas and my mileage returned to my normal average.

For a while I was set on the Fujita until I just looked at it - For $200, you literally get a pipe, with a hole in it for the MAF and a filter on the end. That's why I like the K&N, it actually looks like it 'belongs' in the engine bay and looks like it was somewhat engineered.
