the simple answer is no. the dcsports header and other race headers delete the cat. you could weld in an aftermarket highflow cat like the random tech or magnaflow. if you have a problem with the idea of running your car without a cat or welding in a new one, you could get either a shorty header or the vibrant header that comes with a high flow cat already installed with it.

wow, that kind of blows, i really didn't want to eliminate the cat. i have a 7 year freakin warranty, which i hate now that i want to mod out my car, and if the cat comes out so does the warranty. anyway, where is a good website to get a shorty header?

i might suggest the vibrant header w/ high flow cat (it's all built and bought as one piece). you still keep a cat for emissions and will pass most state tests from what i hear. i'm going to get one because i too want to keep a cat and stay legal. this could vary from state to state...ie, i don't know how well CA standards cope with it.

just so you know the only way your warranty gets voided is if something that you've put on your car causes something to fail. which they would have to run tests to prove that.

Research the magnusson moss act and take it from there.

That's right. They have to prove it.

Unless there's an extremely anal dealership in your area, they're pretty cool with mods as long as it's not something extremely risky to engine parts like F/I (nitrous, turbo, SC) - I've run my current fg2 into a Honda dealership with DCRH, exhaust, P2r spacer, intake, Hondata and they don't say a word - the only thing they could even really notice was the P2r chrome spacer, the tech said: "hey so what kind of a throttle body are you running" and I said stock so then he said, why add the adapter thing then? Classic. Anyways, my old EM1 had the same mods and I'd take it in for warranty work all the time like little interior things etc. and never a word from them, oh an this is at two entirely different dealerships one in NC and one in socal so it's not just a regional thing. AND, the main thing is just never ask them to their face about mods, they're ignorant about them and play the scare tactic game to either a) make you not want to mod or b) trick you into paying their techs to install and ridiculously inflated rates...

Oh, and a high flow cat will pass visual inpsection but not emmissions tests correct guys? If you want a DCRH, I have one and love it, then you could always consider welding on your cat heat shield so you could at least pass a visual inspection...

^I think in every state except CA...in CA OBDII cars cannot replace their stock cat with a high flow...somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Ha, then he asked "so what's the point of the spacer then?" and I say, more volume and he responds "aahhhhhh".

As for a "race header" you only need one and it is "off road use only."
However I have the DCRH and love it! A race header will make any and all pipes LOUD.
So if the popo pull you over tell them what I toled them "I had it tested and it is at 89db.""It is within complyence of the law"The cop will then shine a flash light up your pipe
and say "Look it dont have a baffel!" you say "the baffle is in the first canister!"
You then say "My car is new and in working order and I havent broken the law,I bid you
good day sir!"
