Weird Muffler Sound

Any ever had this problem? Latly, I've noticed when reving a bit high in 1st and 2nd that when I gas it a little hard, it sounds like something is vibrating in the muffler area.

I got under to check, even took out the Chrome cover, did a rev test and it still sounds like something is vibrating in that muffler area. I don't know if it's excatly a vibrating issues, but it just dosen't sound right when I rev the car.

Any ideas as to what is causing this?

Do you have a race header?

Yes I have a DCRH, but never had this problem till about 2 weeks ago.

Looks like I might have to get it replaced soon.

It's your muffler. It happens with race headers after time. The internals go bad and you lose the good sound that you began with when you first put on the race header.

Damn, any input as to what I should do? Replace with a new one or go aftermarket?

I don't want to install a new one and have to replace it 4 months later, which is how long I've had the header in.

It's Stock btw if anyone is wondering.

The muffler will just go bad again. I would go get an aftermarket setup. I would look into the ws2, sp2, or tanabe for something quiet that matches the size of the dcrh you're running.

mine did it in lower rpm... i found the solution to mine, it was one of the rubber exhaust mounts, the one right before the axle back. try cutting some of it so it doesnt rub and check in with this again... it did it for me
*it sounded metal almost but it wasn't* weird
