what air filters are good?

whats the next best filter to use besides the Apexi dry filter? The K&N still uses the old oiled filter technology. AEM uses a dry filter now. There is the foam filters that i heard flow very well but don't filter too good.

Foam filters (atleast in teh past) has the potential to disintegrate overtime. This leads to little clumps of the foam material to start to fall off and out of the cage structure. Plus they often do the worst in filtering tests.

I think dry filters are the best your gonna get when it comes to filtering in terms of longevity and problems.
Oil can get on the MAF causing problems and sometimes is said to not be as good.
Foam as stated above can disintegrate.
So I think sticking with Dry is good.

I'm in the process of making. I got the top intake piece with the MAF, and CRV tube allready. I looked at the stock intake tube and CRV intake tube side by side and they are not a whole lot different. I Think most of the gains come from just the apexi filter alone. I would be interested in seeing back to back dyno's of the X intake with the CRV tube and with the stock tube.

I am a firm believer in Amsoil air filters. I bought a cone type for the mod I am doing with cowl induction. They use a dry type filter and come with a silicone coupler. Amsoil uses nanofilter technology to get the best filtration possible.

Apexi is fantastic. I got a great deal on my Amsoil filter at the Minneapolis Auto Show and ended up becoming a dealer. I bought some of their transmission fluid and am helping friends out with motor oil and such.
