Comptech SS or TMW SS Feedback needed!

Hey I am looking at getting a short shifter. Will owners of either one please leave feedback. I am especially looking for negative feedback since I vaguely remember something about the Comptech one requiring some extra work or something like that. Let me know please so I can save 22% of my lazy arm muscles

ive got comtech... install took less than 10 mines. LOVE it.. especially now that ive coupled it w/ cable bushings and soon to be base bushings.

i think they are all basically the same, though

I have the TWM short shifter. It is a high quality product in my eyes. I have had it for almost a year and no problems. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

Do any of you know if the 08 si has the same problem as the 06 and 07 that would necessitate the use of cable and or base bushings?

The bushings aren't to solve any type of problems. They just give a crisper feel to the shift since they are not rubber. The bushings also last longer because of that reason.

My car is an 08... the bushings just give a MUCH crisper feel to shifting.

Oh okay thanks. For some reason I thought that the 08 had better bushings already. Guess I am just spoiled by not having a 3rd gear problem (yet at least).

Thanks for the replies! I will now be adding the bushings to my order thanks to you guys :)

It seems to me that they have fixed the issue since I haven't heard of any 3rd gear issues with the 08 si

I have tried to get the dealership to fix my third gear problem. I need to print out the TSB and bring it to them next time I get an oil change. It is not that bad on my car but it gets annoying.
