apexi power intake?

well i have an lx and i need to replace my stock air filter.
I've heard apexi is the best and also that K&N is good as well.
Are they both drop ins or would i have to purchase the entire intake system... like tubing etc.???
which is better???

The last I checked Apex'i did not make a drop in filter. As far as I know you will either have to custom make an intake or buy a short ram/cold air and pop that filter on. Obviously a whole intake would technically be somewhat better than a drop in filter.

If you want to get a drop in filter get a K&N.

The other intakes for the R18 is basically a after market intake which includes piping, filter, hose, etc. But it cost more.

would there be any power gains from putting on an apexi filter on an aftermarket intake?

That's a really hard question to answer because to be accurate you gotta do a dyno. But from test, it showed that the apexi filter has the best flow and filtration out of the other filters.
