hello good sir K20 SDN, u never spoke in details about the Spoon Venturi Throttle Body. did u install that at the same time? I am very curious about the throttle body and the efficiency of it, seeing the current troubles with our drive by wire system etc.

Interesting you speak of a flap or door , I was thinking of the samething a door that worked off of vac pressure(Nitrous 35 knows what I'm thinking)like what was done in the 60's and 70's on muscle cars.

Peter, funny you should mention this. I was thinking along the lines of the flap/door that opened under vacuum on the 1970 Chevelle 454 with cowl induction. The 1970 Trans Am also used a flap that opened with vacuum.

I was trying to picture our wiper cowl with a flap that opened under vacuum. This would keep water out and only open upon strong acceleration.

Too funny Matt. I think they describe people like us as having champagne tastes with a beer budget.

^ Lol, and here he comes to save the day with some unnecessary negativity.

Also, The OPs well made, authentic and functional piece is rice...however this engine bay isn't?

look familiar?

If you don't have anything productive to say, don't say anything at all.

To the OP: looks sick man, i didn't think id see someone with this so soon. Look forward to more info!

Yea, I was thinking the same thing. Wouldn't this act just like an SRI? I'm guessing it came with a cover for that port when it rains. This hold would allow it to breathe...

If you notice there's also a CF piece over the battery. It looks to me that air trapped under the hood is supposed to be directed by the CF piece and rammed into the hole

So, you would be taking in both cold air from the cowl scoop, and warm air from the engine bay. Cold + warm air = mild air. which = a pointless ram air? As I mentioned before, im not necessarily baggin on this intake. Im just trying to understand it.. Because my thoughts were this. That hole could be one of 3 things. 1) a place for air to come out, which then goes to the battery ( due to the CF piece on top of the battery ) which could be used to cool down the batter? hrmm no... Or 2) could be used to let rain or other things out.. maybe, but thats a rather large hole for that.. or 3) what was mentioned above. as a means to take in air from the engine bay. But that wouldnt make sense because theres no ram air effect going on there. And then you got to take in the calculations of what the pressure is going into the intake from the cowl, and what the pressure is going into it from the engine bay ( if thats what its doing ). there SHOULD be a lot more high pressure coming into the intake from the cowl scoop, And airflow will go to wherever it is easiest to go. So, that leads me to believe that it would flow right out that hole ( and go into the intake due to the vacuum effect from the engine )..

So, thats where im completely lost here. Anyone got any clues?

a dyno wont give a realistic hp calculation for this product.

How so? B/c of the ram air effect? Maybe we could use scangauges to read it and although they wouldn't be accurate as far as what is actually the real power, you could compare it possibly with other intakes read the same way. ?? Just a thought.
