I swear it felt alot better with stock once I switched it back. Was a nice ride to Daytona for work. I would actualy think the stock unit would be better since it is almost like a CAI because where it takes the air from compaired to where the SRI takes it from.

I got the nos but no plate thing...too bad.

And I really do feel as though the SRI has added to performance. I know this whole "back to stock" thing has just started recently. Something tells me it has to do with Doug from Hondata saying that the MAF responds better in the stock air tube. This may be true as far as the ecu goes, but then how have the SRIs proven via dyno to increase HP? Believe me I would lick the bottom of Doug's shoes, but this does not make sense. Just my 2¢ so play nice.

i agree with you. i feel a pretty good power gain. im not saying i feel 8273456983475345 WHP but it was an improvement. it seems like everyone just jumps on the next best thing. not calling anyone out, but everyone jumps on when one intake is being praised and bashes the other one thats called out. i've heard injen's the best; injen sucks!. i remember the x intake being praised highly then all of a sudden injen CAI is better! F*** throttle response. i dont get it...

Its just due to it being different. I did this for years with my Prelude. Would swap from SRI to CAI to jdm type-s airbox. Would swear all of them were more powerful than before...lol.

Its just different power and sounds create different thoughts. Power wise SRI does make more power than stock but thats not to say stock doesnt feel better in its own sense and probably builds power easier at mid throttle , but WOT the SRI pretty much should own it by a few hp easy.

I dunno what the AFR scare is about. Has anyone blow a motor with bolt-ons? Im not 100% on these motors yet but there are knock and probably pre-knock sensors in the motor. Therefore it should be pretty hard to do so.

But like I said Im dont really know this motor yet , just got started with it a few months ago.

u shouldnt have to worry bout your afrs with simple i/h/e setups i mean its using stock maf and you are getting more air esp if you did like me and leave in bottom stock piping tht brings in cold air i mean heel your filter sits right above it

Yeah, I have it as well and my reaction was the same - loud and lots more power and torque. My dyno tests prove that it added close to 13 whp over stock (based on a stock whp rating of 170), so yeah, great mod for the price, and no CELs like other SRIs and no fear of hydro-lock. I would recommend putting some gaskets in place, maybe even the throttle body spacer (P2R makes a good one), to prevent heat soak typically present in an SRI. The gaskets reduce the heat soaking into the intake manifold and throttle body from the engine block, reducing the IM temperature by about 18 degrees. It might not equate to more whp, but it will prevent the heat soak from ruining the gains you want with the F5.
