I forgot to mention that it's not possible to screw the WR defouler into an already mounted race header. This defouler is huge! However, I'd hold off for SCTuned.....I have a feeling his suprise is their defouler.

Just so you guys know, it IS possible to get the Weapon R defouler screwed into an already mounted header. You do however have to unbolt the exhaust from the HFC. It will totally go on without taking off the header.

I finally got to put mine on after having it forever now. I was getting CELs every 19 miles, and I drove 60 miles after putting it on with no CEL. I'm sure it will come back sooner or later, but I certainly hope not

that is correct, you just need to unbolt the header from the exhaust (sorry, didn't mean you had to completely remove the header from the block). good to know someone else with Weapon R is seeing the CEL also.

Just got my eBay one in today so I'm gonna try it and cross my fingers.

Nitrous, you might want to make a note in the OP that the Weapon R is not working with our header. Plus it's ginormous and so fitment is not the best.

Scangauge II will at least let you clear the CEL out. Which defouler are you using, and how often are you getting CELs?

I've been using the Scangauge daily to clear out CELs. Hopefully I can stop doing that for a while.

every 50 miles. I'm using the Blox defouler. it was working fine w/ no CEL when i didnt have the Supercharger, now that its on, i get a cell every 50.

well, I decided to piggyback my ebay defouler on my Weapon R defouler. Still threw a CEL after 30 miles. I'm stumped now....

Could having the O2 sensor too FAR from the exhaust actually cause a CEL?

yes, not seeing enough exhaust fumes is cause for a CEL also.

Personally, I like the fact that the Weapon R is much bigger than the others. I've gone around 140 miles without a CEL since I put it on, as opposed to throwing a CEL every 19 miles.

Do I think the CELs will stay away forever? No (although I would like them to). As long as I can go far enough between CELs to pass emmisions testing, that's fine with me.

yep, took off my WeaponR last night and put my Ebay one on. I'm beginning to think that the WeaponR was so big that it was actually putting the sensor too far from the exhaust flow. I've cleared the CEL and hopefully I'll have better luck with this one.

SCTuned makes a custom one too that I heard works well. Not sure, though, but I'm subscribed to this thread because I'm really leaning toward the Vibrant RH w/HFC - the defouler is a must for me.

I was getting P0420: Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold

That code usually appears on older cars when the cat is either bad or broken. So, given this info, the O2 sensor may be too far away to sense an exhaust stream and is throwing the code because it thinks the cat is malfunctioning. It's not the same as the other code which comes on when the exhaust fumes are too high - this code usually means the cat isn't there because the exhaust gases are too high for a cat to be present. My guess is that your O2 sensor is too far away from the exhaust stream in your defouler, but that's my best guess.

The P0138 code is a voltage short in the O2 sensor. Usual causes are a wiring or O2 sensor malfunction.

The P0139 code is a "slow response" in the Secondary O2 Sensor - this is the one that most people with race headers and a defouler get if the defouler isn't properly spaced from the exhaust flow.

All of these codes are probably expected or assumed to be caused by a race header and defouler, I'm just curious to see if someone with a Vibrant RH w/HFC and defouler get these codes.

I've got the Vibrant w/hfc, and was throwing P0420 every 19 miles. With the defouler I haven't thrown it since the install, but that's only been 140 miles.

I was getting the P0139 with the WeaponR defouler. I now have the eBay one on and haven't thrown a code in 20 or so miles.

Good grief. Just as I'm about to pull the trigger for the Vibrant RH w/HFC and a defouler, there's still issues of CELs being thrown. Wow. I'm not taking the chance on CELs because it's my daily driver and I HAVE to pass emissions. This sucks. Can no one test their defoulers before the sell them? I mean, they're all different lengths, etc. - can we get some product testing before they just bend some metal and sell it to us? It's frustrating...
