Keith, yours was the only one I could find at the moment with a straight defouler. Sorry for any copyright infringement!

Keith, hopefully, we will be able to design a cold, ram air system to complement your X intake. Might pick up a few more ponies once the car gets going, especially in the mid and top end.

Question, for those who have a Weapon-R Defouler and have or plan to use with a Vibrant RH w/HFC. Now that I have both items, I took a look at both items to do some test fitting and I noticed that the delouler's thread or screw portion, is pretty long, so I was wondering if others had screwed the whole thing in or only screw it in to the point that it would not disrupt air flow? Or even cut the defoulers thread so that its well seated and not disrupting air flow?

great question bro. The threaded port is sorta long but I don't know how bad it would really disrupt air flow. I don't have this problem though because my defouler won't even screw in all the way.

I've brought this up a couple times because mines only threads in about half way before the long portion of the defouler eventually hits the header flange. I just went as far as I could with it, made sure it was parallel to the cat, and tightened the nut on the header and it seems to be pretty sturdy and I wouldn't think it would leak or anything. But I still haven't had time to install my header to test yet. However, Yo Nadz didn't have this problem for some reason with his Weapon R defouler, so I guess it's just the luck of the draw. Is this happening to you?

What? A defouler? It's a defouler, it does what it does. Get an angled one, and you'll be fine. If you're referring to anyone running that setup, then no, I don't think so, and if they have, I haven't heard anything about it. It was a route I was debating about going, but I didn't. You should dyno it before and after to see what you gain from it to help the community.

Question on the first o2 sensor do you need a an o2 sensor cable extender? And the o2 sensor for the cat do I need an extender for that also. The reason I'm asking is i'm buying a header used.

You do not need an extension for either the first or the second O2 sensor. Doesn't matter what header you run. When my Vibrant header was installed, there was plenty of slack in both wiring looms. You will be fine.

The other big thing would be having the op's stuff and then maybe having real reviews of people in places like ca who state whether they were able to pass smog or not.

Excellent point. I would kind of curious to see how my car would do in a smog test, even though we don't have them here in Mn.

Talked to sctuned carlos and they should in places like penn. but here in good ol' boy california nobody knows for sure. I'm wondering how much variation there is bewteen these cats as some people get cels and others do not.

My idea to improve your chances was to wrap up the header to increase the amount of heat being sent to the cat, which I believe is a good thing in that it might make it more efficient at burning gasses and removing heat from the engine bay as well, since I didn't realize you don't even keep the stock heat shield up top when installing the header.

Just an idea though not sure if it would make the cat work any better, just know thats why on older cars you always bring the car in warmed up already.

If there is no check engine light on and the tech dosen't catch it on the visual inspection (if your state has one) then yes, it'll pass.

With OBD2 cars all they do is plug a computer into the test port to make sure everythings working. Older cars get the tailpape sniffer and may not pass.
