Skunk2 Silencer

How much of a difference does the silencer actually make? Unfortinantly I have yet to hear this exhaust in person so I have no clue on how it sounds in person. But the price and gains are nice. Any input?

It makes it considerably quieter.. I've never drove with it, but I did throw it on and revved a few times to see the difference. i didn't like the sound change so I never use it. plus it looks like butt when its in.

I have driven with the silencer in, and it is much, much quieter. I usually just leave it out though. I'd even say it's very near stock sound levels with the silencer in.

if you plan on keeping the silencer in all the time then just get the Greddy EVO2.. you'd be much happier. i've driven w/ the silencer in my 70mm but took it out immediately. hated the sound because this exhaust is ALL ABOUT SOUND

yeah i 've dynoed with a silencer before but i guess it depends to the exhaust type,,, 170 whp vs 182whp both dynoed 2 times, might be a little off but i dynoed 170whp 2 times took it off then put down 182whp.

I read in a turbo way back in the day and a silencer only lost 3 hp. They were shocked as was I. They were expecting the same results of the above post. Every exhaust with a silencer that I have heard sounded like a fart. Not the open exhaust ricer fart sound, but a real fart from some fat guys ass sound. They look funny, sound funny, and lose power. Why spend 500 bucks on an exhaust just to plug it.

I have the Comptech exhaust. My 55 year old dad, my girl, my friends and I think it all sounds great. Its not loud. You can hear the radio and have a conversation.

you think the 70mm is loud? i also have a b18c1 del sol with a skunk2 3 inch no resonator. (leftover from a turbo install) that thing screams all hell. you CANNOT talk to your passenger in the car at all when accelerating...lol. still luv it though

I'm riding on a Magnaflow. WOW that thing is amazing! It can be silent when I'm like in 2k rpms. But also sounds hella sporty when accelerating.

I use mine when I go to school. There is nothing worse than 40 minutes of waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa and no variation. The silencer brings the exhaust noise to a very acceptable cruising level.

Makes a difference in sound, but leaks power for sure. I just put my 70mm one in and had it dyno'd as well...the silencer made a big difference, but the point of the exhaust is power and sound - the silencer kills both. Do you want or

Does it just go into the end of the muffler tip? I can't remember, as I've never put it in and don't have the instructions.

You Take off your cat, stuff toilet paper in the end of the header.next you take off your muffler tip with a hack saw and put the silencer in it but keep it in your room for good luck!!, bam now you have a silencer in your exhaust and an awesome light show lol
