I personally feel that you are a genius and a pioneer. I mean, how many people take the time to do something like this just to the benefit of a bunch of people with the same car?
I guess what I'm trying to say is, I appreciate the effort, and am would like to be in on the DIY and final result. |

The DashHawk looks very nice, but it's twice the price of a ScanGaugeII, which has nearly every feature of the DashHawk. Without considering cost, I'd prefer a DashHawk, but having a ScanGaugeII and $150 in my pocket is a close second.
Bill, I'm looking forward to your prototype rollout. I'm putting an AEM SRI on today, but I may adapt what you develop to it. I'm very interested in your design's overall driveability and any adverse reactions from MAF tinkering. |

I havent posted much on these forums but just wanted to voice my support of Bill and his ideas. I've followed this thread since page one, and personally feel it is one of the most benificial, interesting, and frankly most exciting thread on this entire message board. Keep plugging away Bill, you're an inspiration!

I enjoy the threads where Bill proves someone wrong, but I think I enjoy the threads where he is wrong more (I think this happened only once or twice). Bill will admit to being misinformed, and the haters continue to jump down his throat. Even when he's wrong, he's usually the only one acting with candor, and that's why we need him on the forum.

One of the reasons I went with the CRV airbox is because it is physically large enough to meet one of my requirements which was to use a cone type filter. The Amsoil filter fits in nicely with only a slight modification internally. Update: Here is the site I got mine from: https://www.hondapartsdeals.com/hond...omponent=B++01 Bottom part is $27.97 Cover is $15.58. You get everything you need with the case and cover including grommets, washers and bolts as well as clips.

The problem with haters on this board is that a lot of them don't know what they're talking about. They worship the altar of AEM, Fujita or Injen, when those companies usually don't even spend much time R&Ding filter-on-a-sticks. And they tend to slam pricier intake options like Mugen or Gruppe-M, completely failing to realize that R&D and custom part fabrication costs time and money, which leads to a pricier tag. Cheaper intake makers tend to take off-the-shelf piping components--find the right piping combination that fits from their parts bin, send the prototype to China for mass factory production--and viola--a $300 intake. Like K20SDN said, we don't get quality parts stateside because people here are too cheap to spend money on parts.
These same people tend to arbitrarily slap parts on their car (filter-stick and sway bar here, Taiwanese coilover there) and think some dyno chart explains everything you need to know. Last edited by aki; 05-08-2008 at 01:46 PM. |

Well one thing is for certain, if the cowl setup does end up going with a sealed off box and suction style through the cowl, I'll definitely have to rig up a gym whistle in the air inlet tube so when people say "wow, what is that sound coming from your engine", I can say, "that's COWL INDUCTION bitches!"

Well, cowl induction is on hold. Just got rear ended on the highway. Back of car is smashed and tranny is acting funny. Having trouble getting into 5th and 6th. Sorry guys. I don't know what to say. I am kind of messed up right now as my neck is kind of sore.

!!!!!!!!! Damn, it was my bad cowl induction joke! But seriously, wow that blows. Sounds like the car might be totaled if you're having tranny problems on top of all the cosmetic damage, not to sound negative but ouch...
