Soxfan said he made his own maf pages ago. I was wondering why G was being a secretive when his secret was already posted.

A thorough thread jack...

I haven't been paying attention to this thread, but this caught my eye since I'm a huge WWII nerd lol. I only like single engine, single-seat fighters so it limits the selection, but my fav is the Ki-84 Hayate. Very underappreciated, in part because by the end of the war the fuel quality was so bad for the Japanese and the QA for engines were horrid. It's like driving a Lambo with 87 octane fuel. Great maneuverability, speed, armor. I'm also impartial to maneuverable fighters--zoom & boom fighters seem so dull to me (immediately ruling out the F4U, P-47 and most other US fighters)

He sectioned his own MAF he didn't modify the inside like I do. It's super secret squirrel stuff. lol. No seriously. I made him one of my MAF housings. He just didn't want to cause any trouble. I told him not to say anything about it. I didn't want to get in trouble with the moderators. The mods didn't want anyone making X intakes through the site because of what happened before. So I had him cantact me through my email address. People want them and I can make them. Why should anyone not be able to have the intake they want because of one thief out there. I took his design and made it better. And nitrous is the first to get one. Besides myself of course.

You don't like the P-47 but you do like the Frank that looks just like a P-47 only smaller?

I was just talking about pure looks. Performance wise, F8F Bearcat is my choice. To bad they were to little to late.

When you move up here I will show it to you. I might even help you make one. If you think you can do it. Or you can have me make you one.

Wow that's the first I heard that--I think Ki-84 looks nothing like the P-47--different canopy, and the Jug is MUCH bigger and heavier than the Ki-84, hence the fighter-bomber role in Europe. Hayate is slender like most IJAAF designs.

Pure looks I like the A7M Reppu, the Zero successor was never put to production. As far as sheer performance, the F8F would be the obvious winner, though I'm guessing it'd be a close match to the Hawker Sea Fury. Oh and technically the F8F didn't do anything at all It was onboard the carriers when Japan surrendered, but never saw combat.

Everyone has the same pic of an A7M (at least the first 5 sites I cliked) of one in pieces so how do you know it looks good.

The Sea Fury is huge. Lots of straight line speed, but it can't turn an burn with the likes of F8F, P-51, F2G (i've seen them all race, side by side, its fantastic)

So the Frank has a different canopy, the overall shape is just like a Jug, sans the oil cooler inlet on the bottom of the cowl and the size. It looks like they put a Jug in the dryer on high for an hour twenty.

I am not being secretive, but I am not trumpeting it across the forum here either. Soxfan and I have been talking a lot and he and I felt it is best not to advertise what he is doing for fear that the moderators might think that he is selling things on the forum. Soxfan and I have been doing everything outside of the forum. He has been very supportive of me and I will do what I can to help him out.

Mike, I appreciate the fact that I am receiving the first one. I am excited to try it out. As soon as I get it, I will finish up the cowl induction. I have put the cowl induction on the back burner because I have had a lot of detailing to do to my G35 and Si. I'll get back on track once the MAF housing comes.
