Tell him if you see him that I have tried calling him and sent him PM's. I need to talk to him about some things before I continue with cowl induction.

I'll be moving to the 'North Shore' area.

I might see him again in about a week and a half. But I would assume you'll get in touch with him again before that.

I am still proceeding ahead with the cowl induction. I need to talk to Mike because he was going to help me with a modded MAF sensor housing. I can't finish up the inside of the box until I get that MAF sensor housing. Once I get the MAF sensor housing, then I will proceed with an attachement of the cone filter to the housing using the Spectre Industries pipe and silicone coupler.

After that is finished, I will remount the CRV airbox in my engine bay and then proceed to make a cut in the plastic cowl area so that the cover will clear everything. I also need to talk to Mike about getting that frickin' wiper cowl out. It is really tough to remove.

The final thing to address will be the duct from the wiper cowl to the cover of the airbox. I don't have much room, so it is going to be a tight fit, but it is do-able.

We are supposed to get a major snowstorm tonight and tomorrow, so I suppose my project will be put on hold again.

Other then risking too much water getting into the filterbox, what about attaching the airbox dirctly to the wiper cowl at the part of the airbox that you have to remove to get it to fit? Do you think there is a way to rig it up that way?

The airbox juts right up near the wiper cowl, but you still need a connection between the two parts. The connection needs to be flexible to accomodate any vibration from the motor.

I have a 4 inch ovular connector that is flexible along with 4 inch tubing. I won't be able to make the connection until I reattach the CRV airbox and make a cut in the lower wiper cowl area so that the cover will fit.

As for water, the CRV airbox has a large hole in the bottom along with a drainage outlet. It is at the front of the airbox, so water will go there first. The distance from the bottom of the box to the air inlet in the cover is about 6 inches, so I don't think any water could ever get sucked up into the intake. The worst that could happen is for the cone filter to get a little wet.

Paul, I haven''t had any time. I work 11 hour days and we are just beginning to get a major snowstorm here, so I'll probably be delayed a week or so.

Bill you just have to remove those 3 push clips and pull that cowl right off. It just snaps in. It's a PITA near where it locks into the wiper covers but other than that it just snaps out. Give it a good tug. It will come out.

Mike, I am moving at a snail's pace it would seem. I cut out the MAF housing from the CRV cover and did a test fit of the Amsoil filter in the airbox, and it fit beautifully.

I am waiting for a friend of mine to do a modded MAF housing for me, then I will make the final connection between the intake tube and the airbox/filter.

After that, I will reinstall the CRV airbox, make a cut in the plastic shelf area so that the CRV cover will fit, then try and connect the wiper cowl area to the CRV cover.

I should be done in a couple of weeks. I know it is a long process, but I work 11 hour days and we just had another snowstorm here and the temps are cold outside, so it is kind of miserable to work on my car.

Plenty of warm air and garage space down here in New Orleans. You can move down here and you won't have to adjust your hp for altitude as we are at sea level. Plus, the festival season is just starting.....wait, scratch that. You won't get much done with all of the partying going on around here....stay your azz up there and keep working on that project...

Bro, don't tempt me to move to a warmer climate. We are having the coldest April on record and have had weather more akin to January than April. Maybe global warming didn't hear about Minnesota. Anyway, since the weather is not so great, I am trying to finish up the CRV airbox. Next weekend, I might have my modded MAF housing so that I can do a test fit again. Hopefully, I can get this project finished.

It didn't hear about Cali either (well were I am anyway). We are having more rain in the winter and cooler temps in the summer and warmer temps in the winter.

I'm soo bumbed about the CRV box not bolting up. I was looking foward to the increased throttle responce a bigger box would provide.

Paul, it does fit, albeit with a few modifications. The cover hits the plastic shelf area, but that needs to be cut away anyway for a duct connection to the base of the wiper cowl. I am proceeding full speed ahead and should have the box finished by next week.
