i think the price is about 190.00 if i got it right. I think i saw one the other day in a garage. Maybe we can use some flexible plastic to build conical shape shield, i just dont know which one.

you could use the M&M Honda for the EG6 intake if you could manage to find it...it looks beautiful and perfect for the job and even come with some bendy tubes.

Man, this is even better yet. Where are you guys finding this stuff? Fantastic. Note that it is connected to the cowl area. This could easily be adapted to an X factor intake. Again, I feel vindicated.

i was looking at an online store that sells JDM stuff.

the only problem is Gruppe M is extremely expensive, the carbon ram air intake is $950. but it sure is beautiful
here:
http://www.neweraparts.com/Default.a...a&ProductID=64

and that filter i posed above is $390 here: https://www.gruppem.co.jp/onlinestor...roducts_id=249

Paul, Comptech will sell their Icebox if they ever come out with it, with a snorkel tube going to the lower front of the car. Now that it has been demonstrated that the cowl area is superior and it is feasible as well, this is the direction I am going.

I know the price for the air filter and cover is $390, but I don't know what else to do. That carbon piece is really nice, but the price bites. Ouch. Anyway, thanks for your help. You are a gem!

I just want an inclosed fliter. I don't care where it goes but I would prefer the cowl because less dirt will get to the filter. For me, being in the Smog Nazi State, Comptech gets CARB EO#'s before they even come out with a product because even the Smog Nazis know their stuff is clean. Hell, Comptech already has a CARB EO# for their Si intake, they just need to make it. I got the beach 2 hours away, the mountains 2 hours the other way, it been 70 all week but I cant put a free flowing intake and exhaust on with out some stupidfuckingbureaucracybullshit. Sorry, what were we talking about?

Maybe we can ask Comptech to make a cowl induction intake? Did anyone think of that yet?

they have an online store.their US website isnt working at the moment...you might just email/call them and ask.

also, i looked and the carbon scoop is 50mm so youd have to get 50mm piping and ask gruppe m for the intake with the 60mm cap thing because thats the closest they have...

Paul, it would be great if Comptech could make something like this. At the speed they are moving however, I will be old and gray and put out to pasture. Great idea though.

BTW, too funny about the bureaucracy stuff. Yeah, it gets old, doesn't it?

What is great is on their website, they talk about the carbon fiber piece for the DC5 and mention how it pulls air in from the cowl area, which is what I have been saying all along.

I will go ahead and e-mail them and call them if their US website is working.
