axle or cat back Need you opinion

Hey guys, i need your help and im no expert. Someone is selling me a tanabe g concept axle for a REAL cheap price and i'm just wondering if axle back is as good as the cat back. Where do you really gain power from an axle back or cat back? i read quite a number of post going back and forth. IMO, our car gain power from the cat back but that's just me. Also, this axle back is really cheap to just let it go. Im in college and college student are always broke. LOL. So guys, need your opinion on this! Thank you in advance!

Neither of them will add any noticeable power, and the catback will rob you of a small bit of low end torque. The axel back won't give you any HP whatsoever and a catback system is useful for maybe 1-3 hp, which you will never notice. Unless you hate the way the stock exhaust sounds/looks, I wouldn't change it, since the stock unit is already very high flow and IMHO sounds good.

It sounds good the axle-back...
I was probably going to recomend The Greddy Evo 2 cat-back with high flow cat or a higher flowing cat from an 06 Acura TSX, whose cat has 400 cells. Then you can go the route of race headers if you wanted.

You'll get power from any of these mods.
Best thing to do is get a cat-back and Cold Air Intake, headers, high flow cat, billet aluminum pulleys, flywheel with clutch upgrade and then get your car tuned to extract the most amount of power.

-then when you tire of that get a supercharger or turbocharger and get it retuned.

There will be no HP diff. But you will get a better sound. If your looking for a better sound do it. If you are looking for performance, cat back is the way to go.

I have this particular axle-back. The main reason that I purchased this was because of looks. You are right that our stock exhaust is pretty high-flowing as is. You probably will gain a few horsepower, but nothing you will ever notice. IMHO, for a hundred dollars I would definetely give it a shot.

As far as the sound.....it is a little louder than stock and is not raspy at all. Installation is a breeze, so you could probably save some money by doing it yourself. Hope this helps!
