hissing from engine/header on acceleration
after i installed my vibrant header w/hfc i am hearing a hissing noise on acceleration doesn't matter at what rpm, seems to be louder at lower RPMs. I don't think it is a exhaust leak because i have checked many times no carb build up no idling problems, no nothing. i have all intake mods possible X-intake, P2r TBS, and P2R IMG and an Lsd exhaust. I think its just the noises from the engine but who know. just wanted some input on this.... thanks.

I also have that. I think its just the engine sucking in more air. But I ordered a gasket to place between the collector and the beginning of the exhaust piping. if its still there then I think it should be alright.

It's usually pretty easy to spot where the hissing is coming from. If it is the intake you should have been able to hear the hissing from the intake prior the header. A header makes a big difference in power but not that much suction wise through the intake. Check around the header from the head to the catback for anything loose. Anything around it that has gotten loose and is thin/flimsy will rattle and sound like a hiss. The collector to catback flange should leak without a gasket but some do experience leaks and get gaskets. And if you JUST put your header on you probably won't get a carbon buildup at a leak for a while.

its not a leak its the intake, its just alot more air going through the system. your fine. i let mine idle for 15 minutes the day after my install cuz i was paranoid and there wasnt one drop of condensation on the garage floor underneath. i would think if it was really leaking it would drip something. or throw a cell ?

its normal for an aftermarket header and intake to hiss a little bit. the intake is sucking in air.. usually a stock header is insulated more and thicker.. also less free flowing. the aftermarket header opens it up and air flows faster so you hear the air flowing through the pipes its normal. as long as you dont hear something rediculously loud u will be fine.
