Question Catback Installation? Skunk2 60mm? 70mm?

Ok ill just come out and say it... I'm a Noob when it comes to installing exhausts. I've never done it/attempted it and i've always had a muffler shop install em'. My question is... How hard is it to install a Skunk2 Catback in a 08 LX? I have all basic tools and i have done other bolt-ons before (Intake, etc).
Is there anything i have to worry about as i am new to this car? Fitment issues? Would i go with the 70mm or the 60mm? I do apologize for being such a noob when it comes to this but hey, everyone has to start somewhere. Thought i'd ask the pros for info/input! Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

hey, its ok, ask anything you want... to answer your question, if you've installed an intake, you can definatly install a cat back exhaust, all your doin is connecting pipe together, lol. the only major problem you will face are the three bolts at the cat where the exhaust connects to it at. definatly use A LOT of penatrating oil, let it sit for a few minutes, apply more, then some more, and then a lot more... lol, u get the point. the reason is because they expand, contract, heat up, cool down very quickly and so they are like a fused together nut and bolt. so juss be carefull with that. everything should bolt right up using stock hangers and so fourth. once you look at it, i'm sure you can figure it out... like i said, you putting pipe together, thats all....

On Monday when my Skunk2 70mm gets here I am paying $100 for my local custom exhaust specialist to weld it on. Should I not do this for some reason?

its easy to install but i could hardly get under my car when i installed mine plus the bolts were rusted on so i had to bring it to a place where i was charged 100 for the install which took 2 guys 3 minutes once it was on the lift

Yeah but other than that there is no reason not to weld it right? I prefer that its welded on there if there is no difference other than it is more preferment.

Sounds like a pretty tough job to me imo. I hope you have experience with a welder because it's gonna take some custom fabbing to make it work

Unless you're making loads of power (ie: force induction) out of your LX, there's really no functional purpose in getting anything larger than 60mm as it will most likely decrease your exhaust velocity and will probably make you slower. Granted, you're be loud with the exhaust but then being loud doesn't necessarily mean being faster.

dont have it welded on. what if you dont like it? what if it give you problems? just bolt it on likes its supposed to be. otherwise you will have to cut/dmage it to get it off. save yourself teh 100 and just bolt it on in your driveway.

personally i'd get a shop to install it for me, but im gonna tell them not to weld it. If your installing it yourself..you would need to find a lift. And you would probably need atleast 1 other person to help you out. to help you hold the pipe while your screwing in the bolts n such.

^i swapped numerous exhausts in my driveway with just 1 jack and by myself. its not that bad. can be done in 30 minutes.

id suggest buying a can of silicone spray as it really helps lubricate the rubber hangers and take them off.
