Fujita SRI

so my friend and i installed the sri today and i know the sound is supposed to be different, but when i drive it, i gas it, i lovve it, but i hear this metal sucking noise also, it sounds like there's a piece of metal flapping in low rpms, but disappears when im at a higher rpms. is it just the filter noise since more air is coming in. my apologizes if question sounds retarded. i dont know how to describe it. maybe its suppose to be like that, maybe im just not use to it? should i just get use to it? i mean i like it but it sounds like something is lose but i tightened everything up idk

Yeah I would double check everything or post a pic or two of your install, mine doesn't sound like anything is flapping.

I would check to make sure nothing is loose. I installed mine and can definately hear the increased airflow, you just need to get used to the sound.

I got some goofy noises with my sri as well but things are cool. It is just because there is no sound deadening material like in the stock box/

Yeah I think you are hearing the air being sucked it, rather than anything loose. You can definately hear the metalic sucking noise coming from the filter area, I think it sounds great!

I had to double check and make sure I didn't post this haha!

Same situation. Just better flow and less deadening. Enjoy the fujita....I know I am.

I actually think that sound (I call it the "mechanical whistling noise") is really cool! I love my Fujita SRI. I'm thinking about swapping the filter out for an A'PEXi filter though. It's been roughly 9 months since it's been installed.

Where do you live and what kind of temperatures are you faced with? I notice no bogging issues with my SRI and I see every possible weather you can imagine. The only time I experience bogging is on *very* hot days and that's only starting from a stop (where all the heat is collecting in your engine bay). The only thing I'd recommend you checking are:

1. The clamps on your elbow coupler are tight
2. The filter is clamped on properly - you want the filter on the metal tube just enough so the clamp can hold it on. There has to be breathing room for the filter.

yeah i have checked all of those things but it still does it. i actually put on a cheap filter last week when i cleaned my fujita and there was no bog at all but the throttle response was not as good as the fujita

I love mine i get no weird noises you prob. just didnt tighten the clamps enough
squeeze the silicone hose and if you hear noise you know its to loose then retighten the hose clamps
