In mass at least, theres no sniffer for obd2. Just plug into the obd2 port for logs.

lol you guys wouldn't stand a chance in cali. you'd fail before he ever got the car past idle.
lucky i probably won't pass cali emissions and my vibrant has a hfc. i hope it does but cali is super strict on the numbers they allow to pass. even a stock car can fail if you didnt warm it up for 30 or so minutes before you test.

NY/LI has many, if not all the same guidlines as cali...i guess its just how strict they enforce them.

well we have sniffer tests. odb2 scans. for cells and then they have visual. then they run it on a dyno to test emisions at speed too.

i hate it. at least i dont have to smog for a few years since my cars new.
they sniff at idle and the catless would fail right there. thats why i was saying i doubt it would even get to the real at speed test.

^yup ,here too
we only get the sniffer test after the vihicle is a few years old though.
most mechanics here skimp on the undercar visual. and we get the "dyno" test.

emissions FTL

I have to do mine this year. But in Georgia they do the OBD2 scan. Older cars get run on the dyno with a snifer.
