Top three mods to increase fuel efficiency (mpg)?
Hi there,
I'm interested in knowing what are the top three mods (in your opinion) that would boost fuel efficiency (mpg)? I don't care too much about boosting power, but that can be a bonus too. Main priority is boosting mpg on an already fuel efficient car. Thanks. |

Dilithium Crystals, Hyperdrive, or a Flux Capasitor would probably help out a lot.
![]() Or you could do what NewbTuner said, and don't Vtak so much. I drive my Si pretty conservatively, and probably get much better gas milage over other Si owners. Maybe you should have bought a Civic Hybrid. |

1) The most important thing to mod is your mindset...think slow and steady...cars are most efficient around 35-45 mph.
2) Run tire pressure at high end of safe range and get into top gear ASAP. 3) Search threads on MPG by Janizary, the resident MPG research guru. Do you have R18 or K20 engine? AT or MT? |

I posted a similar question but i did it from the other way around. I asked the guys what kind of mileage they got with Intake, Header, and Exhaust mods, as well as some others. Should be a good start: they got decent mpg increases b/c of the better-breathing engines. |

Thatd be awesome but i think its much lower.Like others have said your best bets are lighter wheels, pulleys, and probably scangauge to monitor efficiency |

WRONGO BUDDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they do to give u better mileage because you are adding more air, not fuel, for a more complete burn of the fuel injected to the piston. burning more of the fuel makes the engine more efficient, thus increasing your mpg, because the engine is burning all the fuel allowing the engine to not work as hard to create the power. your always gonna have the same amount of fuel going to the pistons, unless u decided to install bigger injectors when u installed the intake....
