One Question.

Alright guys just looking for an answer to a question i have because i just ordered the Injen CAI

Do you have to cut the wheel wale wall for this mod to fit?? or will it work but just barely fit??
I remember seeing some threads about this but it was along time ago and i tried searching but i couldnt find anything nor could i remember what happened so if you could either give me the straigh answer or the link thanks in advance!!!

Ps. what im really looking for is the people who didnt cut it that did something different or the people who just left it as a snug fit and what happened to it if it wound up working good like that thanks again

I didn't cut it and it was cool for a while unitl I installed fogs. Then I had to cut it to get the fogs to fit. I noticed when I cut it that the piping was getting cut on the side of the car.

Just cut it man. You can replace the splash chields for cheap if you need to on down the road. If not you can try and manufacture some kind of cushion between the intake and the wheel well to keep it from slicing the pipe.

you can do it without cutting, i did cut it and its all sloppy and i still gotta cut it out more to make it a better fit, like sgtpruitt said its a bitch when you go to install fogs cuz then the filter hits the fog assembly. so hopefully after i cut it more it will fit better

You have to cut when you get fogs? That sucks...

Well, you should cut the splashguard just a little bit so that there's not a buch of pressure on it. However, no matter what you do, you'll eventually get a cut in you pipe down there due to rubbing that will happen even with the shock mount or whatever you want to call it. It happens with aem and injen alike even though they both mount at different locations.

Happened to me and I had a gash in my intake, hard to keep that from happening. I guess if you used some zip ties you might could help the situation but you still woudn't want to pull on it too much. You shouldn't have to worry about water getting into the filter though, since you cut where the intake curves.
