I put a CUSTOM EXHAUST on my Si today!!!!

Today i went down to the exhaust shop with the plans of just having them looking at the 06 Si exhaust and telling me what they would do. Once i saw what was going on under the car i quickly decided to change the whole system from the cat back. The cat is a free flowing cat and does'nt cause any problems. The problem lies in the 1.78 inch piping and the TWO highly restrictive mufflers. I changed the one muffler closer to the cat into a 18 glass pack. I wanted alot of sound absorption so the car does'nt sound loud and ricey. Next i changed the main muffler into a sraight flowing muffler. The best part is all the stock brackets were used and everything was welded. The job came out perfectly. The car sounds soooo good! It has a nice deep tone and a great deceleration note. Custom is the way to go!

LMAO...I hear ya bro.

What muffler did you go with? Any plans to dyno? I originally thought about going Magnaflow universal with a glass pack, before Magnaflow actually developed their Si exhaust, but now I'm looking at something else. Just curious if you actually gained anything over stock. The stock exhaust is quite good.

I always heard the stock exhaust is 2". Can any one confirm that it really is 1.78"?

The stock exhaust is 1.78, i put a 2.25 inch pipe on from the cat back. I put a Silverline 18 inch glass pack on and a Silverline muffler on. Im in california right now but when i get back i will take pics. The next mod im doing is the AEM CAI, after i put that on im gonna dyno the car.
