can i join guys? just got on my 70 mm today.

ive tried searching, and i apologize if this has already been covered but, ive got a few problems.
Ive got a cel (reset ecu and let it idle, still hasnt gone away)
and when taking off from a stop i get a heavy rattling/vibration under the center counsel area. I am pretty sure its not the hangers, and it nearly makes the whole car shake. Im thinking the exhaust is hitting somewhere around the cat. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem and has a fix. it seems to only happen at 2000-4000 rpms in first gear, but its a pretty strong vibration.

SOUNDS GREAT, much deeper than i expected. Loud as hell, but i like =]

maybe when you installed the exhaust, you touched the O2 sensor and that might be causing the CEL

heavy rattling is normal with the skunk2, i guess either the drone or w.e. it is causes it, but i have it in mine, and i'm sure most of the people here have it

i didnt install it. My exhaust was supposed to come tomorrow, but it came a day early. My dad surprised me, picket up my car at school, brought it to his friends muffler shop, had them install it, and then brought it back. So when i came outta school it was on.

i could be wrong, but i dont think this rattling and vibration is from the drone. This is not a slight rattling, the whole car literally shakes. I think that the piping needs to be hitting. The whole car littlerally vibrates. I could be wrong, but i highly doubt the drone would lead to the vibration im feeling.

anyone else have any ideas?
bluesi4- thanks for the response =]

lol yeah bandit03, he is pretty cool about stuff, but is still a dad none the less. Im trying to get him to let me supercharge it and he isnt crazy about that idea. I think he let me do the exhaust, just to shut me up for a little bit. He would rather me get a 5whp exhaust then too boost my car. But he has an 08 vette and is a car guy, so he gets excited when i do stuff to my car too. Likes me working on my car, just doesnt want it TOO fast.

im gunna take a guess and say its not under the center consol and that its actually your muffler hangers in the rear..look under the car and see if theyre touching a piece of metal if they are they need cut like most members had to do on here..idk if its an issue with the sedans or not...but either way thats prly it..but i have heard that people have had rattling noises under the consol from it hitting either the heatshield or some piece of metal around there of some sort...your o2 sensor is a different story..it may have gotten damaged during the install but seeing how a muffler shop did it i dont see why they would break it unless it was an accident..either way the 02 sensor prly needs to be checked out..

O2 sensor seems to get touched by a few shops when installing the exhaust, mainly since i guess they don't even notice it, and i don't think they are that strong and if you just touch them a bit, that will cause the CEL.

As far as the rattling noise, my exhaust doesn't hit anything, but at certain RPMs, the car just vibrates a lot, especially the dash. Will's car is the same way, and it happens because of the exhaust, just the noise and bass it emits. Stand right behind the exhaust and you will feel your body vibrate, and that's just idling, imagine when you're moving...

Is it usually the SAME sensor that makes everybody throw that CEL? Because one sensor is so much more expensive than the other.

when i got my car my dad told me not too touch it, i snuck on an intake which we was pissed over and ive actually been using a silencer from my old megan racing exaust i had on my 04 coupe, it works so good u cant even hear it on start up and when i drive away it sounds just a tad deeper so he hasnt noticed yet ... my plan was to throw on the stock muffler with the skunk2 midpipe for now but i couldnt get the two to match up so oh well
