Question Hondata ECU Swap with Stock ECU.

Whats the way that everyone is able to sell their Hondata Reflash?

Is it by reprogramming the keys so that your car doesnt get immobilized, and if its possible. Would that mean that you have to find a local dealer that has a technician that can reprogram just the car keys themself, or is their more to it?

If you can do it at a Honda dealer, why the hell would Hondata charge more to do the same job?!?!

Im stomped, and cant find it in the search button.

I dont like wasting time, so thats why I wanna be 100% sure

You can do it...if you can find a locksmith who can cut the crazy laser keys that Honda now uses. With a dc5 and selling your ecu you take your "original" key to the locksmith with the "Hondata" key from the car that you are getting the ecu from. The locksmith then puts the "hondata" key in his code reader and reads the code. He then writes the code onto a blank key and then takes your "original" key and copies the cut onto the blank new key. That leaves you with the cut from your "original" key and the code from the "hondata" key. Just reverse the key order for the other guy's key. This is how it is done with an dc5...but with the fg2 and the more advanced key cut makes it harder to find someone. I would call locksmiths in the area and try and find one who can cut the newer Honda keys and you will be set without a problem. PM me if you need more explanation.
