Comptech Stainless Steel Header...pics inside!

Hey all, i just picked up my Comptech Stainless Steel Header a few days ago and thought i'd show you guys what it looks like. i know Comptech products have been hard to come by lately with the new ownership and all. i wanted to post some pics of it so you can get the idea. first off, its not a race header, its a bolt on shorty header that doesn't delete the cat. my plans are to have this header, a some sort of high flow cat, and Comptech exhaust. i wont be installing it until spring though (since the si is in stored due to snow), so i dont have any dyno numbers up or anything. maybe someone else will when these come more readily available...so anyway on with the pics!

holy flash!!!!

I don't think Vibrant makes just a high flow cat. They make a race header with a HFC attached.

I think you'd be looking for the Random Technology high flow cat. That will bolt right up to the shorty.

vibrant does make universal hfc [ http://vibrantperformance.com/catalo...fd32a9a00e7f42 ]... i would think the OP would custom making something just like NA06Si added a magnaflow hfc to his bc rh...

wonder what sort of gains are expected outta it, this is almost the way i'd rather go then a full race header, since i would like to keep the meow if possible.

Nice header, bad rug!!!

I have the same with the Random Tech higflow cat. Along with a Highflow cat you can expect slightly lower numbers thant a race header. There is a dyno sheet posted up in the excelerate group buy from Feb. I think with it was like 200hp(i think) with i/h/c/e/hondata.

lower gains, but my question then is what about CEL being or thrown, is it possible that a p1420 code will develop, or how do we get around that.

My RT Cat never threw a code until about six months in. Had to finally use a defouler to stop the CEL. Still, With a shorty, RT, and Full exhaust, youd be legal and making good power. Not as much as a RH but,....are civics really drag cars anyways?

right, my thoughts exactly. this is my daily driver in the summer, and im just looking to make it a respectable honda that has some go. no hate to the RH guys, more power to ya. i love to see civics make as much power as possible, but i like to keep it clean and legal as well. i thought this would be a great alternative. like i said in the spring i will install it and have it dyno'd with my mods. i think as always....Comptech did it right!

never had a CEL with my set up. I guess I was the guinea pig with the comptech/random tech cat. I haven't dyno'd the car since my reflash, but last i got it done, it made 197.5 hp and 138 tq.

Not to criticize.....but IMHO you should have kept the stock header/manifold and just added a high-flow cat. How is there any benefit in going to the Comptech setup??
