Thumbs up Vibrant Performance Exhaust Review!

I ordered my Vibrant cat back exhaust on sunday night, and I finally had time (and tools) to put it on yesterday. So far here are my impressions.

Quality-10/10. All of the welds looked nice, there were no dents or dings in the resignatior like some have had. Overall the exhaust material looks amazing!

Fitment-7/10. The exhaust lined up perfect, however there where a few problems. First, we had to bend the hanger on the muffler up, because it would not go on in the position that it was in, and if it did it would be rubbing on the bumper. Second, for some reason there was an extra hanger on the exhaust that was not used. It doesnt rub or hit anything, it is just kind of there lol. Third that damn clamp! I have a leak in the clamp, we tightned it as much as possable, but it was still leaking, not bad, but it is there.

Sound-9/10. First off, IMO, this exhaust is loud. Keep in mind I also have the R/T high flow cat, so that does increace the sound. The exhaust is louder than I expected it to be. I have heard people say that it is not loud, it is actually on the quite side, I have to disagree. While I have heard exhausts that are much louder, I would def. put the vibrant on the loud side. It does pop when you let off the gas also. But oh man does it sound amazing! Especially in vtec! OMG, I cannot describe it, it is awsome!

Looks-10/10. Very nice, almost stock look. No coffie can look. I love how clean the look of the tip is!

Performance-10/10. I feel like putting on this exhaust really showed the full benifits of the R/T high flow cat. The car pulls noticibly stronger in vtec, and I mean noticably! Also it seems to have gained a little in the midrange as well. But Vtec...........Oh man!!

On to the Pics....

Box,

Layed out in my room,

Muffler,

In Garage,

Stock Exhaust on car,

Vibrant Installed,

Sorry I have no videos of the car, all I have is a crappy camara phone video. In all honesty tho, my car sounds basically exactly like this this guys. He has the Vibrant header, with a cat. His and mine at least from what I hear in his vid. sounds just like mine does with the R/T cat. Here is the link,

http://youtube.com/watch?v=mWR9xa9ajOs

http://youtube.com/watch?v=O9Pp8F5AL...elated&search=

Also a huge to Corsport! I had never bought from them before this, and I have to say they are awsome!! I want to thank you guys for the great price, awsome customer service, and fast, free shipping! I will buy everything that I can from Corsport, they are awsome!! +1 Rep!!

Hope this helps some of you, if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Man, that looks really similar to stock when on the car. I like it! The only thing I don't like is how it has that damn flange thing... I've heard of a few people having leaks from it.

I love the sound of the vibrant exhaust and it looks great.

2 Questions

1- A lot of people talk about the clamp thing. I'm not sure what this is, can anyone clarify?

2- Since the tip is quite a bit smaller than say a Greddy Ti-C is there a difference in the gains between the two?

Cheers!

Thanks for the comments guys!

To answer your questions, ussually an aftermarket exhaust for this car is in 2 peices. One connects to the cat, and goes all the way up to the axle, and the other bolts up just before going over the axle. The vibrant is set up so that the pipe that goes from the cat to the axle is 2 peices held together by a clamp. you can see what I am talking about if you look at the 2 pics I posted of the exhaust layed out.

As for power they should be about the same. The vibrant is a 2.5 inch exhaust, idk what the T-ic is. They should be very similar in gains. I think it is more about what sound and look you like. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the quick reply. Congrats on your great new exhaust! I was looking into this one but wasn't sure. I thought of getting the Evo 2, but you have brought me back to the vibrant! Enjoy.

To my knowledge the only exhaust for the sedan is the Legal Speed Designs (LSD) exhaust.

Note: LSD, mistake?? Or is the company owned by a dude still living in the 60'S?

do you have any pics that are strait on of the rear? This exhaust has the sound and style I want, but I see too many fitment problems.I've seen pics where the tip is too close to the bumper, and pics where the whole can looks lopsided.Makes it look like a hackjob.

Now I'm back to not knowing which exhaust I want lol. Decision's too hard...

I wanted the N1 but it's too loud... I love the sound, its my fav. sounding exhaust but I don't want tickets lol. Now I'm down to the DC exhaust, Evo2, and the Vibrant. I would lean towards Vibrant but I worry about the clamp and I like the stock look but then I don't?! Sometimes I like the canister style. Seems like the perfect tone for sound though.

The clamp will work fine, or you can weld it like I did :P

Yeah I would prob. have it welded anyways but even still, other exhausts don't need that. Plus I've heard about vibrant exhausts being dinged up and not fitting too well. Coming close to the bumper and stuff.

Yea I will get a pic of it tommorow for you. The muffler will hang however you want it to. You just have to bend the hanger to however you want it. If you want it up higher, or lower, its your preferance really. I tried to get it to be about stock clearance with the bumper.

As for the clamp, I really wish that vibrant had just made the exhaust 2 peices instead of 3. I plan to get mine welded. No matter how much I tightened the clamp it still leaked. But yes the sound is great, louder than I expected it to be. It seems to be really loud/bassy at low RPM's(2-4,500) then my intake seems to take over a little more from there. It is hard to tell before vtec what I am hearing. The exhaust has the same deep sound that the Injen CAI has, but in vtec the CAI note changes and it is more noticable than the exhaust imo. Overall, Im very happy with it! Im curious to see what my girl thinks of it tho. I guess I will find out tommorow lol
