Unhappy Sad news for IPS

Got this email tonight...so sad

Unfortunately both Hondata and IPS felt that we didn't arrive at a marketable product due to the mass air flow hampering the potential of the setup. In testing, it was very counterproductive. The stock mass air flow sensor has proven to be restrictive as well as causing resonances detrimental to making the power we've seen on other platforms like DC5 etc. So for the time being, effort has been ceased.

How so? As of August I was under the impression that they were still trying to make it work with some sort of reflash, at least that's what ron told me.

nothing beats stand alone, but you still can use piggy back AFR tuning devices.

I'm to the point that I'm gonna drive my car till it needs a new motor and I'm gonna get an a2 and mate it with my tranny and be good to go. And of course transplant my intake manifold, and get kpro.

its not just the motor, you have to get the complete throttle system including pedals etc. and give up you digital speedometer as well. might as well trade for an rsx or build a older civic hatch + a2

Only thing I wouldn't want to give up would be the speedometer. I think we'll get tuning eventually.

This is what I am seriously considering. If my timing is right I will purchase the Mugen Si as a collectors item or find a pristine 2000 hatchback in Flamenco Black Pearl and turn that into something you'd find on the cover of Honda Tuning with a nice K series power plant. Either way the Si Sedan will remain my main source of transportation, although the Mugen would rarely be driven if at all.

On a side note you could hook up with HyTech for their all motor package if you had the cheese and time to wait. I'd have to opt for something that didn't require 50/50 mix of 100 and 91 octane fuel.
