LoL hai gusy, I installed new stuves! *56K beware*

Well nothing really spectacular. I have been running an Injen CAI for a year now, and with all the flooding and snow and such, it was making me nervous. So I picked up a Fujita SRI, TB spacer and gaskets from Corsport (awesome guys). Also a IMG, but that's a project for a different day.

I also picked up a new wheelwell from Hondapartsdeals, since mine had the big cutout for the CAI.

Firstly, swapping the wheelwell was a joke. Took all of 5 minutes. Except for one small issue which you'll see in a picture below. Secondly, the TB spacer was such a ridiculously easy install. 30 minutes flat (thanks to Bubzsi for the tip on getting the studs out of the IM), and looks great. Of course, the SRI wasn't sized with a TB spacer in mind, so I had to cut about 3/4 of an inch off the rubber elbow.

Now for the SRI. I'm not sure if it's the TB spacer, but it sounds way better now. I found the Injen CAI, sounded deep and a little "fake", whereas the Fujita SRI sounds more...tuned. Not as noticable most of the time, but when it hits the VTEC switchover, wow. Sounds more like a Honda should.

Anyways, not like you guys haven't seen pics of a TB spacer or a Fujita SRI, but whatever. Pics are always good (and yes, I know my engine bay is filthy, i'm not going to bother until after winter):

Before:

The new wheelwell:

The "issue" with the new wheelwell. My FG2 has the splashguards. I thought that they just screwed in. Wrong. There are special clips, similar to drywall plugs for screws. They slide in, and then you screw the splashguards on, which expands the clip. I don't think it's possible to get them out without breaking them apart, since the expansion looks permanent. So on the off chance you're planning this, be forewarned. I just used packing tape to cover the holes until I can get new ones from HPD:

Spacer (sexy):

Looks so much better now:

Couple pics in the sun after a wash. Pinnacle Souveran wax ftw:

sweet nice mods. I disagree on the splash guards. I had them on mine and it is a clip but it has a screw in the clip and I was able to just screw them off. Didnt break em at all cuz I sold em to a friend and he bolted em right on.

The only bad thing about this is the spacer pushes the vibration mount over so it wont screw down properly which is stupid IMO thats why i wont get the spacer until i am running a CAI !

Believe me, I have the ultimate products to clean the engine bay, just haven't had the time to do it yet, and I don't see much use in using them right before winter hits. DP Engine Degreaser, Simple Green, a bunch of brushes, and some Poorboy's Trim Spray.

Yeah, the tubing of the SRI was a bit off of the vibration mount, but with a little fidgeting, it fit on just fine.

I really don't have a decent way to record sound, just my Sony Ericsson K790A cellphone. I'll take a couple vids tomorrow and see how they turn out. If they're halfway decent, i'll YouTube them.

I have a feeling they won't do the sound justice, as it's really quite invigorating.

so all you had to do was cut the rubber elbow a little to fit it on? I might do this in the future with my SRI when i buy a TB spacer.
