Skunk2 W/Silencer 93 Dbs?

Ok I plan to get a Skunk2 70mm exhaust, but im planning to autox but the thing is that they have a 93 Decibel limit and you will get black flagged if its too loud. Do you think that the exhaust with the silencer will still be too loud?? Thanks guys

Since you're planning on doing autox, just stick with the stock exhaust right now because the skunk2 70mm w/ silencer is gonna be way louder than 93 Dbs and since you're always gonna be in the high Rpms, it's loud.

The HFP exhaust really looks and sounds nice. And that's all it does, it doesn't produce any power gain.

You might want to look at an EVO2. My guess is that is probably the loudest you could pass with. Even then, I'm not sure because it is decently loud once you're WOT in VTEC. Even with the silencer, you're screwed on the 70mm Skunk. Plus it will sound like ass Custom is always an option. I think most people have seen nice gains from the DCRH even with the stock exhaust, which doesn't increase volume too much. If you're looking for the most gains at the quietest level, I think this is your best bet.

Tanabe is pretty soft with a the headers but with a RH, it's gonna be pass 93 Dbs.

IMO if you want power with a soft tone, get a RH w/ a HFC, and use the stock exhaust. Changing the pipe size will also help.

mine is not more than 93db. well i doubt that just because i have no way to prove it. you can hear my motor a lot more than my exhaust.

I autox with the Skunk2 60mm w/o silencer and I don't think it's that loud and I've never had a problem and our local club has a decible rule in place of 93dbs. It is by no means louder then some of the WRXs and STis w/exhaust.

That's what I was thinking...where I race in PA is not really residential, so I guess maybe that rule is not strictly enforced. A lot of guys would DEFINITELY be over the limit.

There's a guy with a car he built himself with a turbo rotary with straight pipes...and he is loud as hell...so even the Skunk 70mm wouldn't be that loud, relatively.

I would ask one of the gurus at the next event to see what they thought. Or get a member on here with the Skunk exhaust to meet up with you and run during one event to see if it raises any issues or black flags.

skunk2 70MM with the silencer on = silent.
i can't believe how much of a difference there is with this exhaust with the silencer on and off.
still sounds good, but way tooo quiet.
