Greddy Evo2..ehhh

well i just saw this thread over at TOV with an 06 si with the greddy EVO2 on, and it sounds kinda farty..I think my dc sport sounds much better, then again I have a test pipe and this person still had there cat on there..i do have to say that both exhaust's are faily quiet under normal driving..Im happy with my setup, hear for yourself.

>>click below to hear my exhaust from my world famous video, wow I put this video on streetfire a few weeks ago and its got alot of hits, and good comments.

Actually, yours sounds kinda farty in the vid too.

But I attribute both to the videos. It's really hard to make an exhaust sound decent in a video if it's coming from a 4-cyl. Very rarely do you ever hear one that sounds accurate, or not like a weedwacker in the vids, but up close and personal, it's totally different.

here are the clips from the greddy evo 2...digital cam
at idle and revs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9K3CEzWOnLs

windows up, regular driving...the exhaust is basically like stock from the inside of the cabin with windows up.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkA75KN47i0

highway speeds...inside cabin, windows up, 2800rpm 65 mph.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkjX2JrmeQo

highway speeds, 65mph....2800 rpm...no drone
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGOjORCX2Sk

WOT 2nd-3rd-4th...leading into regular driving...no drone sounds like stock to me
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyOD45iHDCY

i'm holding the digital camera and driving/shifting at the same time...don't try it...**** sucks and is dangerous.
i have a CAI also...u'll always hear it over the exhaust.

well then maybe its the video..I need to hear it in person..and belive me if my video does'nt do justice for my setup, then I'll be glad to take anyone for a spin so u can hear it for yourself. Had and s2000 driver sit in the car, and then actually let him drive it, and he was very impressed..sounds really close to his car, this was coming from him.

nice videos. I have to say i was worried at first b/c the reving and idle one did sound a tad bit "farty" but then the WOT shifting sounded great to me. Good post! BTW have you noticed and loss of power with the cai coupled with your new exhaust?

no loss in power felt...when i had the CAI alone i'd have to apply more gas than usual on move off so the car won't bog easilly...and sometimes when cruising a slight hesitation....at wot and vtec shifts u coulda felt vtec more and it was louder but with the exhaust, at shifts the car car squats a lil more on hard shifts...as if to say it has some more power...i noticed that right off the bat...it's enuff to feel it everytime u shift high up in the rpm range...so i'd say the 2 worked well together for a noticable gain. imo.

954K20 your exhaust sounds like a tin can with a dragonfly on steriods stuck in it. sicky urs is too quiet but sounds nice. hence why i bought the evo plus a heads up for you evo owners that plan on removing the cat. the evo sounds o so sick with no cat. vids arent the best way to grasp the sound of a exhaust so just my .02

tight vids. I think overall from the vid's it sound pretty badass to me. Im more of the type that likes the exhaust quiet when cruising but when you want to WOT the mo' fo then some growls is well needed!! Soo the Evo seems like a good choice for that route.

I have to agree. I have the AEM CAI and the Evo II and they work together great. I noticed a change in the Vtech also and then thought maybe I was loosing my mind. I'm glad to see someone else noticed it. Now I don't feel like such a space cadet. And I dont' hear any "fartiness" and I can still hear my intake sucking in air like crazy.

Hey but that DCsport that hes got is suppose to be louder then our GReddy Evo2, and also what ive heard is that the sound should change once you break it in. And I dont know, the first day I revd my engine sounds so much diffrent then 3days after I installed it, maybe it has to do with my EAR?!.. Ill post a review once I have the chance to actually take the damn pictures of my mods, and have time to write alittle description of what diffrence is felt.

As for the DCsport, I heard a Si with it like 2 weeks ago in the streets passing by from the opposite direction, and damn that **** was pretty loud, I had to turn my head all the way while I was driving to see if it was actually that Si that was making that noise!..And it was, cause no other car was near it.

Hey what about Greddy SP2 its oval muffler and the tip it rolled back. Looks better in my book. But are the performance gains as good and the sound deep at full throttle? This would be my choice now but I'm waiting to see what comes out. Its almost like every week theres another mod for us I came from owning a Mercedes C230 Komp Sport Coupe and every mod was ridiculous in price exhausts where like 1500+ I love my Si its a much better vehicle

I'm suprised you got any mods for the C230. I considered buying one after seeing it at the Philly auto show in '02, but decided not too after really looking into it. Nice car though. My aunt and uncle both have Mercs. She's got a C230 Kompressor coupe and he has the C320 Sedan. Sweet gorgeous. Good taste in cars x2 .

After seeing the videos I vote for the dc sports, but maybe it's because of what the owner said, he has test pipe and the other Si does not so maybe there is the real difference. Have anybody tried a borla? I want to know how much $$$ they go for?

Well i had an Evo 2 on my previous car, and it sounded great, and then i added unresinated test pipes and it sound better until the gaskets gave way alil. then there was a rasp. the best way to go IMO is Evo 2 with resonated test pipes. i would ALWAYS get compliment on how nice my car had sounded

are you using the entire Dc sports exhaust system?...dc headers,dc system???

I liked it .......Because....i just heard the evo2..didnt like it...had that 'farty" sound that everybody calls it...i jus call it a deep bass sound...anyways...u didnt notice it till you let off the gas...but yours sure had that race sound to it....very cool
