Reflash: Mahdavi Motorsports Lilburn, GA

Ok well im aimed to get my reflash soon, The way mahdavi broke it down is $595 for the reflash and $150 overnight both ways. Does that not seem remarkably high? anyways just thought Id see what you guys thought. Also they are wanting to charge me $200 to install the IMG im thinking for $200 ill tackle it myself. How is the install?

thanks,
Josh

check out clubrsx. i think theres is 595 and you only need to provide the shipping oneway. hondata will ship it back to you free of cost. think mine cost like 45$ overnight from illinois

$595 is the standard cost for the reflash. although what shipping you use optional. you can overnight it for much cheaper than $150. and jkocr2 is correct, you only have to pay 1 way to ship it. hondata pays for it to come back to you.

Can i just contact them and ship it and pay? or does it have to be rung up through a dealer, and then I ship it myself?

www.clubrsx.com <--buy it through them
1. send your money to club rsx.
2. print the labels they mail to you
3. ship out you ecu to hondata
4. leave your car in your garage
5. get it back in 2-3 days and enjoy.

You can take out the ECU and install your self no prob.
I used Horse Power Freaks.com call and talk to Dave.590.00
You can send it Fed-Ex 3-day or for that matter ground service.
Hondata will still ship next day air to you.As for IMG. their is a
DYI on it.And If your shop is spanking you on the shipping and reflash
(they are)200.00 might be to high.I always go to my Honda stealership
for the installs that I dont want to tackel. They tell me 200.00 for an
install I tell them 125.00.Because I can have my other tech. do it for 100.00
They always go for it.
P.S. I dont have another tech......HaHaHa

i forgot to mention they use "drage race inc." as their store front for all non-rsx parts.

yeah your dealer is really shady, sounds like they wanted to charge you for hondata's side of the shipping and just pocket it while hondata pays for it. they're trying to rip you. don't take that shit and hustle them for a cheaper install or find another dealer

the IMG was about a 5 hour install for me.. It was my first time doing something harder than an intake/exhaust swap so take it for what it's worth. I've never been more frustrated in my life trying to slide that IM off the bolts it is secured to.

Mahdavi Motorsports is notorious for high pricing as they usually cater to higher end cars and can get them to pay those prices. Check out Mainstream Performance, Battleground, or just DIY

Do all dealers(Honda) do after market installs? For example, if I bring them a short shifter and like a cat back and pay would they normally install, or do you have to be friends with the dealer?
