Thoughts about possible Tuning Solutions

Last night, i was working on my friends TypeR with a K20z from te 05-06 TypeS... and the conversation of tunning my car came up! Currently he has a 03-05 ECU Wiring harness coming in along with the 03-05 computer with Kpro. I was thinking, if i can some how cut my wiring harness and soldering the 03-05 TypeS wiring harness and connecting it to the 03-05 TypeS computer with the Kpro. Any of you think that would work as a tunning solution for our cars?

Nope, i don't think so. Drive by wire versus drive by cable...correct me if I am wrong but 03-05 are drive by cable.

true, your right! but the 05-0 dont have cable, they have drive by wire, and the way they tune their cars is with a conversion harness from the 05-06 harness to the 03-04 harness, and they use a 03-04 Computer

Actually the TOV Si still has the MAF--hence their Injen intake facing the same idling/low RPM hesitation people here are reporting.

Getting rid of the MAF-based system so far seems like the best way to get more reliable power. The only other possibility I see is bringing the MAF sensor closer to the throttle body while keeping the same dividers in the housing--and then add a SRI/CAI after that.

Injen and other SRIs get their power boost in higher RPMs with the larger piping diameter, which helps at higher speeds and at WOT by taking advantage of the increased static pressure. The problem with Injen and the rest is the MAF. The MAF section piping doesn't like anything different from stock, as you've also pointed out. So the limiting factor is the MAF housing.

But with the MAF housing closer to the TB, you can run a larger diameter piping throughout the rest of the piping, which would decrease turbulence and increase static pressure (hypothetically, of course). A gradual velocity stack to the throttle body with a larger diameter intake could be better flowing. The problem with INJEN's SRI is that it not only loses the dividers in the MAF housing, but also contracts at the MAF housing then expands again, which creates more turbulence and friction.

Not sure if it'd actually work, it's just a thought.

I don think 05-06 has dbw i am pretty sure it doesnt. But I have seen a fg2 with kpro on fgcoupe.com. They took out the civic throttle system and shit and replaced it with that of a tsx then used a new computer and harness and it worked.
