My Hollowed-out intake...

Well, it looks like a bunch of people are trying different things with their stock intake. Until some mods are really beneficial, i decided to gut mine like a lot of others have done. Fins were clipped off, dremeled down and i painted the inside with high gloss black paint (thought it looked nicer, haha).

A few pics...

Gotta be honest, i didnt notice much of a difference.

Here is a secret not many people know.... But what Im about to share is the most effiecient way in bringing more air in.

Do this...

-Go to wal-mart, or any store that has shoe's.

-Steal about 30+ of those Oxygen Absorber packets, if your smart you should know where this is going already.

-Take those packets and fill up the bottom of the stock intake housing underneath the filter.

Now by doing that, those packets will absorb a lot of air which in turns brings more air into the intake.

Your welcome on the secret.

Oh, Rep me and I will share my secret on how to use Air Dusters as NOZZ.

This is one of those old domestic tricks. If I remember correctly that only worked on carburated motors.

Wouldn't it be beneficial to sand the inside smooth? It looks pretty rough after you painted it, wouldn't smoothing it down allow the air to enter with a substantial amount of less friction?

^ Agreed. Try to sand it and keep going with a finer grit to get that smooth surface

It's not just the ribs that add turbulence. You need to use finer grit to smooth out the insides.

it's better than what it was, seriously, having it baby-ass smooth would not make a ******* difference, it would have just wasted another hour of my life.

Don't talk to me about half assed, take a look at my car and call my mods half assed.
