Question on Drive-by wire system

I'm sure that everyone here who owns an SI hates the drive-by wire system for our TBs...at least i do.

So, here's the question (if anyone can answer it)...A Type-s (K20Z1) uses drive-by cable system for their TBs, would it be at all possible to swap our TB with that of the K20Z1 to have the cable driven TB, or do they have completely different mounting positions?! If they do have the same mounting positions, would the drive-by wire system be possible to replace with the cable? I don't know about everyone else's opinion on this subject, but it does kinda bother me to have the drive-by wire system bc of the lag we have when opening full throttle. I remember when i had my K20A2 in my '02 EX, right when i step on the peddle, it goes. Whereas the SI, if i were to step on the peddle, it lags for a sec...THEN it pulls. Now, I'm sure you ALL KNOW that even a second can cause a win/loose situation. I've tried searching for this subject on the forums, I've seen nothing of it yet.

you know driving my car all this time i never even notice this lag with the DBW.
Here lies the problem with what you are posing, the DBW system is apart of our ECU's and they connect to the speedo and everything together. So cable throttle would nto be possible on the k20z3. at the moment.

it has been done... would be a pain in the ass to do but yea... and yes like fire said ab the ecu. i guess ud run the k20z1 computer for the speedo etc. and leave the z3 for everything else. idk all ab that tho. but yess the lag kinda gets on my nerves sometime to bud

Yeah that lag does kinda get annoying.. what i was wondering was can that lag be reflashed out? maybe if they came out with a newer program that decreases the lag even more than it has before. or its just the nature of the dbw system

I don't think they can come out with something like that. DBW will always lag, I have two friends who have AP2 S2K's and they both say theirs lag too because of the DBW.
