I have the Exedy Hyper Single and am very happy with it. After installation, there was a little bit of chatter but that went away completely after the clutch was broken in. When I need a replacement, I am going to stick with the same clutch if I can.

Here is a link where I posted a bunch of PICs and specs on the stock clutch and the Exedy Hyper Single.

P.S. I'd avoid ACT since others have not had positive experiences to report after installing.

Eric has a modified AJP turbo kit on his SI. The 06/07 civic si clutch is the same. As for what stage you should get, stock works perfectly fine. You shouldn't really need a clutch until you start looking at some FI, or a beefy NA setup like the one that was offered by Hytech.

There are alot of people that would disagree with that due to people having probs with their clutches early. It seems like they're all 07's though, but I'm not sure.

Unless you have worn your clutch out already, you do not need an upgraded clutch for the mods you have. If you have worn out your clutch already, I would suggest a driving course before a new clutch.

Exedy makes an excellent clutch and none of their products are refurbished. Some of the other clutch companies take used clutches and re surface or refinish them and resell. I had a stage I Exedy clutch (organic) on my '00 Si that was supercharged and the clutch was still as strong as new after 100,000 miles. The stage I also felt very close to stock with regard to pedal effort & resistance. The organic compound still allows for feathering of the clutch.

I would wait until your stock clutch starts slipping before upgrading. The clutch itself is not that expensive, but dropping the tranny is no easy task.

There is no reason why clutches in the 07s should be going early. If so, it is either a manufacturer defect, which would be covered under warranty and recall/bulletin would be put out, OR it is simple driver error.

clutch - if the clutch beginning to slip or / and grinding it is not caused by any of the following items: throw out bearing, pressure plate, bad tranny and vsa. it is mostly commonly a worn clutch or beginning to go bad. Also the stock o.e.m. Honda clutch is thin not really thick for racing nor burn out, it's only good for normal drivng.

I have to disagree with you on this one. I'm not gonna say that the stock clutch is some high horsepower clutch, but it sure can handle power. My buddy has an AJPed stage 1 4dr si and he was romping on it with his stock clutch, and it held great. My clutch was holding up great on my comptech SCed Si. My other buddy has a greddy turboed Si and is currently running the stock clutch with no problems. I also believe there are a couple other AJPed SIs on here running the stock clutch. I beat the ish out of my clutch from day one, and it was holding up great after 25k miles of fun/spirited driving.

Yours is an 06. I've noticed that they have stiffer clutch pedals than the 07's. Maybe they have better clutches than the 07's do...

I have not had any probs wit my clutch but a clutch and flywheel combo can help get the power to the ground and help with responsiveness even with the few mods he has.
