I have the Exedy Hyper Single and am very happy with it. After installation, there was a little bit of chatter but that went away completely after the clutch was broken in. When I need a replacement, I am going to stick with the same clutch if I can.
Here is a link where I posted a bunch of PICs and specs on the stock clutch and the Exedy Hyper Single. P.S. I'd avoid ACT since others have not had positive experiences to report after installing. |

Unless you have worn your clutch out already, you do not need an upgraded clutch for the mods you have. If you have worn out your clutch already, I would suggest a driving course before a new clutch.
Exedy makes an excellent clutch and none of their products are refurbished. Some of the other clutch companies take used clutches and re surface or refinish them and resell. I had a stage I Exedy clutch (organic) on my '00 Si that was supercharged and the clutch was still as strong as new after 100,000 miles. The stage I also felt very close to stock with regard to pedal effort & resistance. The organic compound still allows for feathering of the clutch. I would wait until your stock clutch starts slipping before upgrading. The clutch itself is not that expensive, but dropping the tranny is no easy task. |

clutch - if the clutch beginning to slip or / and grinding it is not caused by any of the following items: throw out bearing, pressure plate, bad tranny and vsa. it is mostly commonly a worn clutch or beginning to go bad. Also the stock o.e.m. Honda clutch is thin not really thick for racing nor burn out, it's only good for normal drivng.

I have not had any probs wit my clutch but a clutch and flywheel combo can help get the power to the ground and help with responsiveness even with the few mods he has.
