Weird idea for a custom intake

I was messing around with my short ram today to see if I could position it better to minimize heat soak when I came across this idea:

What about using the stock intake system with out the piece in the center that connects the air box to the pipe on the bottom that leads to the resonator. Then using some brand air filter where the center pipe used to be and remove the factory air filter and put the brand name cone filter on the bottom air inlet of the airbox.

Lmao anyone thought of this before?

"Stance"...The new jockstrap
I don't know about this idea, vut theres another thread somewhere about a guy who put a vent under the driver side windshield that leads to his SRI. The SRI also has the lower part of the stock airbox to try to defeat heatsoak. It's actually a pretty cool thread
