just got my skunk2 70mm today =) some questions

did skunk2 ever shorten the hangers so that they wouldnt have to be cut? i unrapped the muffler hangers and they do look short to begin with on mine so im not sure? did they ever start making them shorter or do they just look short to me and ill still have to cut them some so they wont rub?

***UPDATES***

pictures from unwrapping it, i dont have a picture of the pipe from the cat. but ill get one 2mrw there wasnt enough room to lay that out without it falling haha also ill try and get pictures of the hangers up in a few hours..

like i said ill get more up of all of them and try and take pictures of the different steps on the install, not sure how good i can get since im doing it while its on stands and wont have much light to work with, but ill see what i can do.
ill also get videos up to add to the collection

Alright I got the skunk2 installed after a couple hours of work..it was hard only using one jack and stands but everything worked out just fine..it was basically easy after u get the bolts in the cat knocked out seeing how theyre to short to leave in..the flange on the skunk2 pipe wont lets u get the nuts on..so u honestly have to hammer them out, just be careful, nothing hard though..and yea the cat. bolts are the most stubborn bolts youll encounter in your life. it took me tons of lubricants and tugging to even free them, but once free its cake..except for the hammering out part. for that i had to unbolt the heatshield on the cat to slide the bolts out once u hammer them lose..u cant reach one of the bolts on the heatshield but if u can take out 3 of the 4 its easy to slide the cat. bolts off with some wiggiling around..everything else was straightforward..it helps if u lube up the rubber hangers before putting them back on the frame or onto the piping...either way just use lube..i DID have to cut the muffler hangers, about one inch..just a little bit before the first bend on top is where i cut them and it clears fine..all the other hangers are fine..IT HELPS if u take the rubber hangers off the frame but them on the piping hangers and just hang the piping up from there..easy to bolt into place that way too..it looks great, it really isnt that loud so i dont know what everyone was saying..its loud..just not loud enough for me to get annoyed very fast, it sounds really good, not like rice or anything, it does however get a slight higher pitch when your hit vtec..just gotta polish it up and its good, overall good purchase, there is no noticable lowend or torque loss nor horsepower gains, maybe 3-5 more whp but w.e dont flame me, its nuthing to rant about its just an exhaust..just feels better to drive now..

sound-10
performance-10
looks-10

i didnt have time to take pictures of the install but ill get more under the car when i jack it up to tighten the bolts after a week..got that good old burning smell too

use 14mm 6 point sockets, or 6 point 9/16 sockets for the cat bolts dont use 12 point sockets cuz theyll round your nut to easy with all the torque and leverage your gunna be needing to get the cat bolts freed...use 10mm 6 point socket and hand wrench to take the 3 heatshield bolts of u need, the wrench is for holding the nut..much easier..and hammering the catbolts outa the cat. takes a good amount of time and hits. just hit them really hard and theyll come free after a little hammering..

oh yeah and it pops alot to, especially in 3rd. sounds sexy.

just do it urself. I hate when aftermarket companies make parts that need modding. Injen doesn't give brakets that fit, some exhaust companies dont supply fitting gaskets, its stupid.

I don't think they changed the hangars. I'm sure you'll have to cut em.

Longwood, I-4 & SR 434, about a half mile up SR434 east. It'll probably take you somewhere around 40 mins to get to my house. Tomorrow is no good because I may be helping a friend install a camber kit on his EP3. Saturday I'm free.

You can go out and look at it and tell whether or not it's gonna rub. Mine didn't at first either.
