DC Sport RACE header

I was wondering if this is normal. I have a DC Sport header on a 2006 Si and the part that is meshy between both o2 sensors that is flexible has some exhaust leak coming from the meshy part. Is this normal from this header? or do I have a faulty header? I'm new to this forum and to this car and I purchased MY car with this header install and I have no clue what is normal and what is not. I have had plenty other cars an none of them that I have put a aftermarket header has had the meshy/flexible thing on them, so I thought it was normal when I saw it on the header, but now that I have a exhaust leak and its coming from there, I start to wonder if this is normal.

Thanks in advance,

BM

It's called a flex pipe and they are normal on certain vehicles. On this particular header they are known to break and it's fairly common, unfortunately.

Call up DC Sports and complain. More than likely you'll speak with Guillermo who's a really nice guy. DC has great customer service and they'll set you right!

What do you mean they set me right?

Also, I'm interested in your valve cover. Please send me the info I requested via PM.

Would DCsport replace my header? has anyone had this problem? what has been the resolution by DCsport?

Thanks,

BM

Call them and find out. They'll either replace it or repair it depending on the situation. Most of the time they replace it, though.

This has been covered many times, so a search could have told you all the information I've said. This is a pretty widespread issue.

I think the verdict would be to call AEM. Why wouldn't you. You just got the header so they should replace it if they test it and find a fault.

Edit: I lose^

Why would you call AEM? It's DC's product.

I believe AEM owns DC sports or vice versa. Just got to their website and you'll see.

You definately own a first generation DCRH. Where did you get this header from ?

EDIT: n/m. You bought the car with it installed. Obviously it's the older style. DC (AEM) has since fixed the flex pipe welds.

They'd replace the DCRH with the latest revision, which addresses that issue.

They won't replace it unless you have the receipt. I had the same problem. Bought my header second hand and had to fix it myself. Honestly though, this thing is a piece of shit. I'm getting rid of mine.

well i bought my header my self and i really think dc sports has horrible customer service i keep getting transfered back and forth between department soo then i took the matters in to my own hands and took my header to my local exhuast shop and had them cut out the old flex pipe and put a new one on it. and i will say the new one looks soo much better then the shitty one dc sports put on that header. it it was like only 65bucks soo yeah that is the way to go. find someone you trust to fix it n have it fixed don't mess around with dc

I picked up mine from atpturbo.com

I think it was 20 bucks plus shipping. Make sure if you do buy one yourself get the 2" by 6".
