hondata img vs. p2r img

so we all know about the hondata img, but what about the p2r img? does anyone have this installed?

is there anything significant about it? or is it just like hondata? i already searched and couldnt find anything. im just doing reaseach for things i plan on getting. and i just thought it would be nice to have matching p2r TBS/G and IMG

thanks again

I would think they are about the same, but I don't know of anything concrete as far as a comparo.

I have the P2R gasket sitting in my room right now. Im kinda skeptical about the quality of the P2R. It has a slight ridge/ ripple runing straight down the middle of it. And i am worried about it sealing propperly. It also has some jagged pieces of plastic on it from where it was machiened that i had to sand down.

I just ordered the p2r off of Corsport with my TBG and spacer. I'll see how the quality is. They are the same price, so I figured they would essentially be the same thing.

Mine wasnt that bad, it just looked kinda like the plastic youd see when putting together a model car. you always have to shave off the excess plastic from where it was casted. I dunno, it just looks cheap compared to the Hondata one.

I ordered mine from excelerate here on 8th civic. the quality was perfect- there weren't any extra bits of plastic, ripples, ridges, or any other issues that people here are talking about. it was the exact same fit as the stock gasket (other than the fact that it was thicker). I was really impressed.

someone from excelerate told me that P2R and Hondata are using essentially the same plastic material, and that theirs are superior because no one else is currently using it. I think that someone at P2R told him that. I had originally ordered the comptech heatshield gasket and the excelerate guy said that after comparing the two he thought that P2R was superior in quality.

the gasket has been on my car for a week now, and I'm having no noticeable issues whatsoever. the install was ridiculous! to be completely honest, I'm just glad I don't have any vacuum leaks after taking that much of my engine apart.

I would seriously recommend Q-shooter's DIY guide. I didn't take the front brace off, but his guide, and what others have added to it is incredibly helpful.

I imagine the p2r is good. but i have definately seen cheaps ones after 5000 miles it looks horrible and melted to the head and intake manifold would of been better to leave the stock one on if it was me go with hondata i have had one on every car i have ever owned never had any problems sealed perfectly will last forever
