DC Sports Race Header installed: review

EDIT:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzrlE2c7LMI
VIDEO!!!!

So I jumped the gun and bought a header instead of TB spacers and pulleys.

I decided to buy a DC Sports Race Header as it was within my budget and the power gains were what I was looking for. I also made sure that it was a late model DC Sports header as the earlier ones had problems with the flex pipe welds.

I purchased the spark plug non fouler setup and it worked.... so far... no CEL.

My first response when I drove away from the performance shop was nomimal. I didn't feel much difference. The exhaust tone is a little louder, and has a different pitch. Keep in mind I didn't go past 5000rpm yet. Once I hit the highway, I was then more impressed once I hit vtec. WOW. I can sure feel the pull. It sounds great with my Magnaflow Street Series exhaust.

All in all, it was a mod I am glad I did, because I am getting the Hondata reflash in late July.

Mods so far:
K&N SRI
DCRH
Magnaflow SS
TWM SS
6k HID
Skunk2 Racing Springs

Darryl !

PS VIDEO IS TO FOLLOW!!! SOON!!

humm.... i want to spend money on preformance!!! so i would install the damn thing myself, but it has to pass emissions. i have heard horror stories about the DCRH too! i want something that works, has preformance gains and is reliable. a dcrh with some Ti-c exhaust and a test pipe would make my si a monster... i just need to pass emissions. any1 help me?

no need for a test pipe with a full race header.

Yes.

It replaces the cat, so if you live in an area that requires air-care, or emissions testing (I don't thank God), then DON'T do this.

its bolts to stock exhaust...and the only problem ive ever heard from dcrh is welds crackin wich could be fixed very easy. for those with emission that have dcrh, id just make a removable test pipe in the cat back.

^ Also, that only refers to early model DCRH's. I made sure this one was a late model. It shipped out of DC Sports itself June 1st 07. :)

i live in missouri, i sold my old civic2002 because it couldnt pass emissions. it had a header test pipe and exhaust. a removable test pipe in the exhaust would require additional labor on the exhaust, unless thier is an easier solution to the problem. i can have a shop bend some 70mm exhaust for around 175 but i would need a muffler or axelback. i like the apexi N1 tip or the Ti-C.

N1 tip is nice and clean. Ti-C is cool if you like the burnt/colored muffler look... GL Streetmachine!

Btw, OP, your Si is awesomeness =)
Do you think an Icebox such as Comptech's would add better HP throughout the entire powerband? Are you planning on a Hondata reflash anytime soon?? That would be a worthwhile mod, along with some sticker street tires.
