Thumbs up 1st oil change and mod ~ So easy a caveman can do it!

Whats up fellas!!! Well i've been patiently waiting till I hit the 2,000 mile mark and really wanted to changed my oil. During the time of waiting till I hit 2k, I started to purchase some goodies that would help make my car run smoother, reliable, and hopefully gain more hp and MPG! So I ended up with my 1st oil change/tune up package :
- 5 qts Royal Purple Synthetic Oil 5w30
- K&N Oil Filter HP-1010
- K&N Typhoon Intake System 69-1012TP
- And a Bumper Sticker j/k

Finally the 2,000 mile mark came up and its time for an oil change!!! Oil life on the guage was still 80%, so im guessing the oil is still good. While draining oil I was suprised to see lots of metal bits! Boy I was glad I changed the oil pretty early. But taking the factory oil filter out and draining was very 50% of the time was trying to take out the oil filter, draining, and cleaning the mess it made , But after all that it was piece of cake, especially installing the new K&N oil Filter. Then I poured in some Royal Purple and Bolted on the K&N intake and was ready to rip!

Damn was loud!!!!! The car felt different like as in super smooth and it did improved big time in performance and response. Hopefully it would help out in fuel economy, but during the time of MPG was kinda low, but was expected because of all that... After all that fun, I ended my day to get gas, refilled my fuel tank with some V-Power, and off my way home. Couple days have passed and car runs like a champ!!! Driving normal and conservative with some spirited driving, its now showing a little over 200 miles on half a tank, which I was surprised!

So next project is some wheels, rubber and other goodies! See you guys on my next episode on wheels 'n suspension!

Making me tempted. Those are the routes I want to go down.

Curious why you'd go K&N when everyone swears by Injen CAI?

Thoughts?

I went AEM SRI, and the only second guess that I made was whether or not I should have sprung for the K&N. I didn't even want to worry about hydrolock, and SRI's sound a lot better in

i can get 200 to a half tank...but then it starts dropping like whoa...i never let it run to the bottom of the tank...but i would guess max i could get is 325 - 350 miles per tank.

Great stuff man. I recently did my oil change and intake as well. I went with Mobile 1 Synth and a K&N Typhoon; I have a testpipe on the way. I don't dare do stickers on my car though. Can't wait to see those wheels on your car. Looks like your car is Habi so those bronze(ish) wheels should look great on there.

I don't really like bumper stickers on cars, but it's a funny one. Really clean engine bay. Nice.

How long did it take you to do all that stuff? I have no experience with cars really so I was wondering how hard it was and how much skill you would have to have

Yup, the Honda Police will come and reposess your car for not
keeping their Magic Oil in there for at least 7000 miles

Seriously, I changed my oil at 1000 miles and put in Mobil One and changed it again at 4000 miles and put in Royal Purple as well as Royal Purple Synchromax MTF. Car is still running like a champ and I have gained 2mpg after putting in the Royal Purple. It's RP for me from now on
