I am not saying you are wrong or that I am right...just that it doesn't make sense to me at least
Well the engine is making no power lol. The computer knows that the cars gearing and speed can keep the engine spinning, so why keep adding fuel when the wheels are spinning the engine?

Now what bugs me is that when I push the pedal all the way to the ground and I'm at WOT, the MPG reads 9999 and my HP reads 0.0

It's really strange. If I accelerate slowly, it'll keep up with both the HP and MPG. the highest HP rating I've gotten is 135 (R18 auto)

anybody else have this issue?

They must be using the open loop to gauge fuel shut off, cause the SG2 doesnt really know when the fuel shuts off. See when you go into fuel shut off (technically DFCO deceleration fuel cut off) the cars computer goes into "open loop" meaning that the comp doens't look at any sensor data. The comp also goes into open loop when you floor it at HIGH rpms. Under normal driving conditions the comp is in closed loop, meaning it uses data from the sensors in its calculations.

Try this, add open/closed loop to the gauges. See if the GPH goes to 0.0 every time it goes to open lp. If yea, then that sucks and the SG2 ppl used the open/closed loop to gauge fuel shut off which is kinda lame.

It might be as simple as triggering on open loop, but I doubt it.

The conditions that would show fuel cutoff are one or more of:

MAP low
TPS low
LOD low
Loop Open

I suspect that ScanGauge uses more than just Loop Open to watch for DFCO.

thanks for the information, I'll definitely check that out and report my findings.

Yea but if it uses TPS or LOD then the SG2 would never show fuel shut off at full throttle like it apparently does...

I just went out and tried using the open/closed gauge and for the other three I used Horsepower, Gallons Per Hour, and MPG. Using that combination I went onto a 50 mph road and floored it from 0 mph (which doesn't mean much in an R18 auto, haha) This time everything worked fine. wtf. I'm happy it works, but it's weird.

I also tested it from a 30 mph roll and it worked as well. No more 9999 mpg and 0.0 HP and the GPH was still reading and didn't go to 0.

It worked when it was closed and when it was open. Highest HP I hit this time was 128 hp.

Yea I tried it that way.. but if you set it to gallons, then change it to liters, it stays at 13.2 liters so then u gotta move it up again

Yes, I set the tank size correctly. I ended up just reloading the defaults.
I guess i'll keep trying.

^ Do you have mods?

I'm stock. I've hit 135 or around there before today. I wouldn't completely trust the ScanGauge though, I'm sure it's not entirely accurate.

I don't know how accurate it is but I know I didn't jump for joy when I saw that number. LOL!
No more engine mods

Wonder how long it will be before "street dyno" threads are banned?

I've been using the SGII for almost a year, and just had it upgraded to XGage this week. Now it shows 9999MPG when off the throttle while at speed. No way that could be right. The car never cuts off fuel completely - old wives' tale. If it did, you'd know it. You can try it sometime, just turn the ignition off at 65. Why would you need it if there is no fuel being sprayed, right? I have written the manufacturer and am waiting for a response. Has anyone figured out what the problem is? Changing the fuel type to hybrid did not do it for me.

ROTFLMAO. The old wives are writing factory service manuals these days.

K20Z3:
Fuel Cutoff Control
During deceleration with the throttle valve closed, current to the injectors is cut off to improve fuel economy at engine speeds over 1,150 rpm [emphasis mine]. Fuel cutoff control also occurs when the engine speed exceeds 8,200 rpm, regardless of the position of the throttle valve, to protect the engine from over-revving. When the vehicle is stopped, the ECM cuts the fuel at engine speeds of over 7,700 rpm. Engine speed of fuel cut is lower on a cold engine.

R18:
Fuel Cutoff Control
During deceleration with the throttle valve closed, current to the injectors is cut off to improve fuel economy at engine speeds over 910 rpm (A/T model) or 950 rpm (M/T model) [emphasis mine]. Fuel cutoff control also occurs when the engine speed exceeds 6,900 rpm, regardless of the position of the throttle valve, to protect the engine from over-revving. When the vehicle is stopped, the ECM cuts the fuel at engine speeds of over 5,000 rpm. Engine speed of fuel cut is lower on a cold engine.

I don't see how it could measure whp without actually getting a 'feel' for the tires
Anyway, I'm getting bored of mine *yawn*
