The thing is, it does not provide Km/L... just L/100Km (as per post #297). I still had to do mental math to come up with Km/L (which is the more common expression for fuel economy in my country).

can someone with a fully stock r18 tell me what their MAP, IGN and LOD reading is when at warmed up idle? I got an intake manifold recently and i want to rule out some causes for a stalling problem I'm having. Thanks!

I'll get back to you later. I'll get the reading on my drive home tonight. A/C off, I suppose?

at warm idle your car's LOD is 30?! wow, your car is working hard to keep it idling. And is your IGN pretty steady at 8, or does it fluxuate? Thank you very much!

The IGN changes between 5-8. But it's usually pegged at 8 most of the time.

See, I debate that getting 0L/hr is accurate...

I had that too - and I also had 0/hr when I hit Vtec.... and we know that's not right.

After a few tanks, it stopped reporting 000s, which I accept, and my proof is in the increased accuracy of the fuel used. When I go to fill up, I'm always within a few 10ths or hundreths of what I filled up, which is fine because of measurement error on the gauage, the gas reader, and what actually goes in vs drips out.

I'll take my 93-99% accuracy :)

^ i am with you...

i don't think it's far fetched that the motor doesn't need fuel when you aren't applying the throttle..as long as all the moving parts are lubricated and there is a force/energy to turn the moving parts it makes sense

There is *no* *question* that both the R18 and the K20Z3 fuel cuts at times with throttle closed. Asked and answered, source is the Factory Service Manual.

The only question is does your Scangauge II incorrectly report 0 fuel at WOT. If you are incorrectly seeing 0 fuel at WOT, play with the cutoff value.

(Okay, it'll also almost certainly get things wrong at the rev limiter too. If you are spending any significant time at rev limiter, you are doing it wrong.)

I know this is a stupid question, but when you clear out a CEL with the Scangauge, does it just turn the light off, or does it clear the CEL out of the ECU?

it will keep track of max RPM for the day...so if you only take it to 3k rpm it will remember that...you could write that number down and take a look when you get it back

if they were to unplug it b/c they needed access to the OBD2 port then i think you would lose that info...

If your ScanGauge has been unplugged it will show an * next to the values. If you're concerned be sure to instruct them not to unplug your OBD2 scanner unless they call you first.
