That is the reason I want it, to get max MPG on this trip.

It seems like a solid investment if you can see the "sweet spots" for the cars best MPG.

If you don't have one and you want to know the cars sweet spots.. don't accelerate on uphills. Try to either keep a steady foot on the gas and don't mind if your speed drops a little.
Catch some speed on the down hill. This works out a little better than keeping a steady speed the whole way.

Well, the new IS350 has its own dash readout for live MPG, tank MPG, and overall MPG. It is spot on with the scangaugeII. Last two tanks have varied by .1MPG and .2 MPG, respectively.

I've got a good mounting place, and the light blue color matches up with the gauges, so I guess it will stay in the IS and I'll have to get a 2nd one for the wife's EOS 3.2L.

yes..what happens is the ECU turns off power to the fuel injectors..so the motor is being turned over by the wheels through the transmission..so theoretically you are getting 9999mpg b/c you aren't using any fuel..you should be able to notice how the car gets a little jerky when you start to apply the throttle a little..it's the injectors kickin back in..great feature

Just jumped on the bandwagon. :) Anybody got an idea how to have it read in Km/L instead of Liters per Hundred Kilometers (LHK)?

you might be able to set that up through one of the x-gauge functions...not sure tho...

try calling linear logic...they seemed very helpful when i have called them in the past

does anyone know where to find in writing about the injectors shutting off when you let off the gas in gear?

I can see (through the SGII) and feel when the injectors kick back in.

You can change to km via the Settings. It says in the manual if you got one.

I have set it in Kilometers and Liters under Units. But the only combination it can give me is L/100Km

Other combinations:

Miles and Gallons: Miles per Gallon
Miles and Liters: Miles per Liter
Kilometers and Gallons: Kilometers per Gallon
Kilometers and Liters: Liters per 100 Kilometers

If anyone has the XGuage parameters to display Km/L,

Some video demonstration I made yesterday about the SGII and working the car towards better fuel economy by knowing when the fuel injectors are off and capitalizing its effect (if that made any sense at all ). Enjoy: YouTube - Fuel injection shut-off while coasting in gear

nice vid...you should have set one of the gauges to show km/l, so it would show how that measurement jumps to 9999km/l when the injectors cut off...
