stock vs. intake and exhaust

the si has a pretty unique sound in stock form, would you say adding an intake and exhaust improve the sound or just drown out the vtec goodness and make it sound like every other 4banger with an intake and exhaust?

if anything, a good intake and/or exhuast might enhance the vtec sound. I doubt it'll sound like a d16 four banger just because of the mods.

IMHO a fujita sri ( I can only speak for this because I own it) definitely enhances the sound of vtec engagement....the skunk 2 70mm however overpowers that however....ha ha

I'm curious on the release of the Ice Box as well. I'm trying hard to hold back.

Why not just YouTube it? There's like a gazillion videos of 8th gens with intake+exhaust.

I love the way the skunk2 megapower r sounds even though others don't get to really hear too much of the vtec. I still hear it and that's what matters to me.

Why is everyone waiting on that intake? Just b/c it looks stock? If it ends up anything like the one for the ep, I'll stick with the injen. Especially if we're talking about sound. The comptech wasn't that loud from what I heard.

You still hear vtec with the skunk2 Just get a intake and it will bring your engine note up to snuff

If you dont mind being loud but deep... Injen CAI & Skunk2 70mm
If you want to be quiet unless under load..... Fujita SRI & EVO2

As far as looks go.. I like the slant on both the Greddy Ti-C and the Apexi N1.

But yeah look on the exhaust notes here in the forum. I have a nice video with the windows down.

65-110 pull I think.

I have a skunk2 70mm and a fujita sri.....yes you can still hear the vtec.....but I was so used to the fujita's sound "overpowering" the stock exhaust that I am not used how the skunk 2 is so much louder..... I've just ordered a RT cat as well....Im going to guess that won't help the noise issue:)

Damn babies!!! Make sure you post a vid too. One member posted up AEM CAI, Skunk2 70mm and the BCRH so i have an idea of what it will sound like.. don't know if the different brand intake will make much difference.

I definitely will. It's music to my ears so far. I just drove over 1100 miles to biloxi and back this weekend and I'm still not sick of it, but my dog might be, lol.
